I couldn't tell from the discussion, but is the oil consumption issue only for the revup engines?

This is how my 06 is consuming...minimal in the 1st 1,000 miles then progressively worse in the next 2750 miles.. about 1.5-1.75 quarts per 3750miles...I'm going to demod in late jan and take her in for a consumption test.....Damn how I don't want to take all these things off...

He explained to me that I have nothing to worry about, and the dealer will put some pressure on Consumer Affairs.

BTW I burned 1 qrt in teh first 3,000 miles, which was no burn in the first 1,000 and a 1/2 qrt in each of the next 1,000 miles. The final 1,00 miles I burned 1 qrt of oil. So a total of 2 qrts in 4,000 according to my dealership is worth a new engine.

We will see. I should hear back from my advisor by the end of next week.

Yep it's going to be a pita but I don't want infiniti to try and blame any mods on my car.

Would be good to know if you should have a V3 put in, even if you have a V2, when we find out what is different. Supposedly the V2 was the answer - how many engines are they going to come out with?!

I only have about 350 miles on my V2, but I will notify everyone if it starts consuming.

I got my extended warranty info from NNA the other day - they extended my 'bumper to bumper' 2005 6mt warranty through Nov., 2012 (or 100k miles) that was supposed to expire in 2009. $1,600 value, for free. It was the least they could do.

I called the dealer I have been working with on my OC issues and asked if they have heard of a TSB for the G. I'm waiting to hear back from them. I will update as soon as I get a call.

So I just got off the phone with my local dealer and they are having my bring the car in next week and they are going to request an engine replacement through Infiniti. According to my service advisor there is no TSB out for the G just yet.

I'm not going to hold my breath but it appears that I should be getting a new engine. I will update with my engine number replacement.

I was talking to my Infinit Tech friends and they said the TSB was just for Nissan and they are currently putting one together for the G. I would of thought they would of steped up to infiniti owners first but oh well there should be a TSB on its way out soon. Once its out all the dealers in this area are gonna be booked up and then the engine will probably go on back order and it is going to be a mess.

I'm going to call NNA and have them put in the file that i know of another 'v3' engine coming out and I will be tracking everything closely, and if my v2 was just put in knowing about this TSB, as well as knowledge of a new version of the engine that was a 'better' fix than my v2, I am going to be demanding this engine at 99,999 miles before my (extended by NNA) warranty is up, and that's assuming that my new engine, which now has 600 miles on it, does not start consuming 1st. I would go after damages from NNA, but knowing that they would have then put $22,000 into my car on 2X engine replacements, is enough for me.

1st and last infiniti FOR SURE....

Yea... I think this issue has lost Nissan/Infiniti a lot of what could be loyal customers.

After reading this, I went out to check my oil being long overdue for an oil change. I know I haven't put any oil in for at least a month.

Check the dip stick... NO READING
Put two quarts of oil in and waited ten minutes for the oil to run off the stick.
Tried again.... NO READING!!!!
Put two more quarts in!!!

I'm thinking with my mods, I won't qualify for any of this warranty stuff. And, my bullet proof engine is flawed. When at idle, it will sputter ever once in a while like it is missing a spark. Guess it's time for a service?
