At this time it looks like the RE shifter is going out of production....we are trying to get RE to build them exclusively for us at 350EVO. It been a great selling item and one of the best parts on the market.
Well see how it goes.

It would appear that only the G35 owners have embraced this product while the 350Z crowd have basically ignored it after its introduction.
We're not sure how much more marketshare it will really have after we finish off the parts we have. Only word of advice is get them while you can!

I installed the RE shifter on my '05 over the weekend and had a chance to play with it today.
When the RE shifter was on my '04, the shifting effort increased slightly (getting into 5th and 6th especially - even after adjustment), but well worth it for the reduced throw.
After getting the '05, I couldn't stand the long throws and had to get the RE shifter in there ASAP. There was no difference in stock '05 shifter design vs. '04 that I noticed during the install.
My observations...the throws are just as short as when the shifter was on my '04 but the effort required to shift seems to have increased a little more relative to stock. The improved shifting in the '05 is reaaally nice and effortless with the stock stick through all gears. After installing the RE shifter, the level of effort seems to have dropped back to what it felt like in my '04. Getting into 3rd was also noticeably more difficult (even after playing with the guide plate adjustment). This was never a problem in my '04.
Not sure at this point if I'm willing to trade the reduced throws and the funky 3rd gear shift with the effortless shifting using the stock stick. I'm going to try it for a little while longer to see how it goes -- or maybe I just need to work out my shifting arm a little more at the gym
Would love to hear others' experiences with the RE shifter on their '05s.

We do have some leftover parts from the last production run, but will mean we have to make a few other parts to complete them.
In all, there are a total of 8 parts that go into the shifter, only ONE of them is an off the shelf item (a bolt that we use). We need 2-3 of the custom made parts to made again, in order to assemble what we have left.
For those that are SURE they want one, backorder it now and wait.

Any questions, let me know.

Ben - when you say "wait", could you please be more specific? A timeframe would be great to know. If its a longer wait, I would prefer a refund. Thanks!
