Motordyne Plenum Spacers, Non-RevUp Engine Feedback

Actually the 5/16 has better power throughout the rpm range, but if your talkin about racing someone or tracking your car. You'll be spending most of your time near redline, so the 1/2 spacer is actually better.
So is this basically a general consensus that the 5/16" provides a better output of power in that it is across the powerband rather than large gains towards the peak 5.5k+ rpms of the 1/2"? I was going to get the 1/2" iso thermal but if this is true, then I may have just decided to go with the 5/16". Do the gains or sound differ much between these two or are they basically the same? The 1/2" claims 12-14 hp while the 5/16" claims 11-13; is this peak power or throughout since many have said the 5/16" provides more power throughout? Thanks!
I added the Motordyne spacer lsat week along with 10 wire grounding kit 350z-tube and K&N filter. Install was easy and took about 1 hour for the spacer. After ECU reset, there was quite a noticable improvement in power and acceleration throughout all RPM's. The car is 5-AT 2005 sedan and finally feels like the car I'd hoped for when buying it. It is definately a worthwhile mod that can be done by someone with minimal mechanical skills as long as you follow the excellent directions.
Thanks for the info.
My question is did you get the mrev plus? Because from what I have been hearing. I've called motordyne myself and they pretty much said that its for sure that you'll gain 10-15whp through the power band and lose about 2whp at high rpm's. I have been doing alot of reading concerning our motor and it seems like it's pretty much finely tuned already, I question these mods and for the sake of power increases. Wonder which mods will work? for a second I was ready to make my purchase with the mrev plus but now I'm kind of skeptical. Thanks for the info. I also have an 05 and looks like my hks exhaust, cai will be it for now.

Co-signed. Good question, bump for confirmation/answer.

I agree with you...
ive ordered the 5/16 iso thermal with aramid gasket and ccv. Will have a local garage install it. They have done similar installs on 350z's.
My question is - since i am in the Middle East (Dubai) where temps are between 28C to 49C should I leave the ccv open or closed?
Winter months are oct to feb where the temp is 28 to 36c and summer is march to sept where temps rise from 36c to 50c.
Cheers,
Clint
