absolutg - yes, you will experience the same gains as the MT cars do. This mod is not dependent upon the trans type. You will be pleased, no doubt.

Motordyne 1/2" spacer review

Ok, just got back from installing my Motordyne 1/2" Copper Iso Thermal spacer. One word "AWESOME". I dont care what the dynos say, I dont care about people saying well it wont really give you power, thats all bull****. This thing is the real deal. Big thanks Motordyne for engineering such a great product, and for exceelent customer service.

I went to my uncles house to have him install it (because I'm not that mechanically inclined ) And he lives about an hour and a half away, so I knew the ride home would provide plenty of chances to test this thing. The installation was actually pretty simple, just had to pay attention to the details. After installing it I tried doing the pedal reset to reset the ECU, and thought it worked, went for a quick test drive around the block and no CEL light. But bout half an hour later got in the car to go home and the light came on. So I did the disconnect battery and hold brake pedal down reset, started the car back up and everything was fine for the hour and a half ride back home. Even had my cousin test drive it, he has a stock G35 and he was like WOAHHH!!!

Thats where the real fun came in, the car first of all accelrates a lot better from a dead stop, and you can absolutely 100% feel the extra power through the entire RPM range. Getting to 120+ is way too easy now

So in conclusion, any one who doesnt have this mod... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

P.S. The only other MOD I have is a K&N Typhoon CAI.

P.P.S The blue pen light is just icing on the cake

I have to agree with you. Everybody who has driven my car was suprised to see soo much of a gain (short of going f/i) with such a simple mod.

Yep, love my 5/16 iso thermal spacer too. I've got the manual valve and may switch over in the spring. Install wasn't too hard either.
The spacer gives a little more power throughout the rev range and adds a little more growl sound as well. Well worth the money.

Seems like I have a bit of a problem. The car runs fun, its the idle thats got me a little worried. Theres two things that are bothering me one my check engine light comes on, and the car idles at around 1200 rpm off a cold start, and around 600 after driving for a while. Now I did the ECU reset and the check engine light doesnt come on after I start it, but after I turn it off and turn it on again it comes back on. Also when I hit the gas there is a slight whistle that sounds like its coming from the cold air intake, which didnt happen before I got the spacer installed, but I think is happnening only because the throttle body is spaced out more than before due to the Copper valve. Im sure everything was installed it right, we torqued all the bolts to specification, and really made sure everything fit perfect. Im just not sure what to do. Thanks for the help guys

ok seems to me that you have a vacuum hose not connected. Check all of them. Also make sure that the oil rubber thingy that goes around the oil cap is not caught between the plenum. Also did you connect the sensor back to the throttle body?

Yeah man all that stuff checks out fine. But I just talked to my buddy, who has installed these before, I told him my problem and the first thing he asked me was if I disconnected my battery before doing the mod...no I didnt . So it seems thats the problem. He's gonna take care of it form me anyway so hopefully everything is gonna be back to normal soon.

Well here is the strange thing. I too did not disconnect my battery when I installed the MREV mod. All I did was reset the ecu doing the pedal method and everything worked fine.

Thumbs up Motordyne is god!!

I just got done installing the Motordyne 5/16" spacer on my ride. Installation is fairly simple (follow the directions) and you'll have no problems. The hardest part was getting the gasket on the spacer to stop moving around.

As far as how it affected the throttle response and such.....holy **** doesn't even come close to describing the way the car feels now. This is hands down the best mod I've ever installed. Idle to 3000rpm is a little better; basically it feels smoother and power comes on more quickly and easier. After 3000rpm until redline; watch out; the power is unreal. It feels like a totally different car now. Power just keeps coming and coming. On a side note, it also lowered the volume of my Stillen exhaust. Anyway, if you're looking for a mod that gives the best bang for the buck. The Motordyne spacer is it.

I thought the 5/16 shows best power gains on the dyno?

Word, the 5/16" shows the most gains across the board, the 1/2" spacer just shows the biggest peak increase.

i'm saving for the 5/16 mrev kit... i prefer the across the board gain...maybe i should wait on that tint....
new mod schedule:
1. mrev+ plenum kit
2. stillen swaybars
3. tint

first and foremost though is a full car zaino treatment...

most likely i'll get the mrev next month...

Is this the mrev or just the regular spacer?
