Custom grounds

I have a G35 with my own home built ground system and it works perfect. It's made with 8 guage million strand audio power cable in to 5/16 6 guage plated ends. if you fold over the wire it will just fit into the 6 guage end then solder it, 60 wattt iron is enough. this also lets you put as many ends on without ever cutting the cable (1 length all around the car). I bought it by the foot, 20' is a good length to start Dont forget the 2 factory soldered points one each side for ignition and injectors also runs the headlights. This is the cure for burnt out window and seat motors. The factory only has 1 ground body to block connection. When i bought this car at 25K miles the battery cables were turning green which means corrosion and bad connection. The battery ground goes to the body then is picked up 2 feet away to go to the block (should go directly to block since it will draw hundreds of amps), What i'm saying is the grounds being perfect is a tune up that will not void warranty and you won't believe the acceleration that you get. i've never had a car that did'nt have a cable going from battery ground to block directly. Done this to last 4 cars and reccommend it, if u can't by it make it!!

upgrade to perfection

I have seen pics of this system please take this as a complement. you want to use plated connectors not just copper or it will turn green as it corrodes and solder 4 the cables to the connector. I have done this to my last 5 cars and it is PISSA and you never have to do it again. The more points on the block you can get the better. Consider this instead of three lugs to 1 point. You are relying on compression to make the connectrion, use more points on the block. Use 1 wire uncut to all points block and body. I'm, blowing doors off just about everyone doing this, G35X 06 has only 1 ground from block to body this will not work. I have 5 points on block and have 6 points on body am in progress of gettung block to M66 which goes to ECM, 22 MPG and OMG acceleration.
The way factory has it battery to body 1foot away, then using body panel to start engine WTF never had a car that did'nt have battery to block connection on ground, now it does.

This is a review not the for sale thread. I havent heard of them being around for awhile. Goto the vendor classifieds and it should be under engine or accessories just look for grounding kit.

My review on Gords Grounding Gear. First to start off Gord has great customer service, he helped me decide to get the kit even if i wasn't buying it brand new, because I found a used one closer to where i live at that was off a auto sedan, but my car was a 6mt coupe. he was able to give me info. on when the previous owner bought it and how to install it onto my vehicle. so heres goes my review....

The install wasn't bad at all, very informative directions made this easy. as for the end result putting the ecu wire made all the difference. i noticed little throttle response without it but once installed the change in throttle response was impressive.

sorry pics arent clear, and bay is dirty

i had bought a used kit and was acutally setup as a 10 wire kit and off a auto sedan. i installed the kit using 8 of the specified wires pointed out from Gord onto my 6mt coupe. the kit was over four years old but the wires were still solid. thanks gord, awesome product!

okay, this is bugging me. I use to have one of these kits years ago and I can't for the life of me remember where the ECU wire went to. Did it go the battery or to the motor?

Dave, it goes to the ground cluster at the left side of the engine (second last picture above). Per your registration information, you installed your Smoke coloured System in October 2005.

Just arrived

Just got the grounding kit from Gord. Wow, fast shipping and got it even before I wanted to install. The kit looks great and I will be reporting back on what's what on the 2010 G37x. Great forum, looking forward to learning.
