Re: OCT-1 ... Open Track event (Buttonwillow)

Tony,
You may find this FAQ quite informative. But to quickly answer your qustions ... yes, it is a good idea to remove items that may come lose and go flying while on the track (i.e. radar detector, stuff in the trunk, etc.) A helmet is definitely required. For you, a motor cycle helmet will do at this time. Oil catch can is not necessary ... assuming you have your PCV tube still attached to the intake.

This Tech Form will also assist you in preparing your car. If you still have any questions ... feel free to ask away.

Re: OCT-1 ... Open Track event (Buttonwillow)

**** UPDATE ******

Registration should be open sometime today ... finally!

I was able to confirmed FREE timing for all of us ... yay!

I also beg'd for addition discounts and the best I could muster is the following:

"Let your guys know they will receive an additional $10 off if they attend two days and yet another $20 off if they come all three days ($50 off total). I realize that most of you will not want to, but surely there are some psychopath G35 owners in the world."

Note, this discount is on top of the existing discount for attending multiple days. ... any psychopaths among us? ... Randy?

**** IMPORTANT ****

Now for a more pressing matter. We need to decide on the event date ASAP, so all of us are able to register and secure our spots. The most current list is as follows ...

1. Clint (THX723) - 6MTt Sedan - [any day]
2. Mike (6speedG35sedan) - 6MT Sedan - [Sun.]
3. Ricardo (Discreet_Arts) - 5AT Coupe - [any day]

5. Darren (dklau33) - 6MT Sedan - [any day]
6. Amy (ImagineG) - 5AT Coupe - [Sat]
7. Danny (buddha) - 6mt coupe - [Sat & Sun]
8. Denny (MyLilBlkG) - 6mt coupe - [Fri & Sat]

12. Kenny (MyLilBlkG) - 6mt 360 Modena - [Fri - Sat]
13. Brandon (hatethatbobbarkr) - 6mt 350z -[any day]
14. Tony (Hydrazine) - 6MT Sedan - [Sat]
15. Aaron - Honda S2000 - [Sat]

Saturday: 12 votes
Sunday: 7 votes

So ... it looks like Saturday has the majority. If there's any reason why we shouldn't have this on a Saturday, please speak up before it's too late! Feel free to PM me instead. Keep in mind, your reasoning must be very compelling for me ignore the other 12 people's vote.

I will give the official GO AHEAD for Saturday ... if I don't get any objections in approx. 48hrs.

That's all for now!

T-minus 36 days.

Clint:
I am really going to try to get my schedule arranged so that I can come. With that many G cars, just too good to miss.
Do you know what configuration they are going to run? I would kind of like to try it clockwise.

Re: OCT-1 ... Open Track event (Buttonwillow)

Leaving at 5am sharp should be sufficient. Traditionally, we'd meet up for breakfirst at Denny's around 4am and allow the brain to slowly kick back into service.

Re: OCT-1 ... Open Track event (Buttonwillow)

the alternative is to go up there the night before and stay at a little motel down the road. That is what I did the first time up there. Here is a little write up on what it is like as a newbie from the first person perspective.

Re: OCT-1 ... Open Track event (Buttonwillow)

Leave at 5am sharp and we'll be well ahead of schedule.

The driving fast part is all too predictable when you have 12 fast cars following eachother. You trying to taunt me into boyracing wasn't the wisest thing either.

If you recalled ... we arrived well ahead of the drivers meeting, so we were not technically late. I've been at this for far too long to know what we can get away with And believe me ... a good breakfirst is very important. Last thing we need is someone passing out in the middle of a highspeed maneuver.

Re: OCT-1 ... Open Track event (Buttonwillow)

We were early? LOL yea the reason we were early is because we made up about 40% of the cars. LOL Yea i thought we were late that day but i trusted you.

Boy racing, Clint you started it off first, i tried to catch up to you. But i was i admit it you did win, but you just had a head start. HA HA

To everyone else
Have fun guys and be safe. For the beginers, dont go to crazy, go at a safe pace and TAKE IT SLOW then move your way up.
