VLSD helps with hard cornering and helps with driving on slippery/wet pavement or irregular road surfaces. If you don't drive the car hard, it wouldn't make much difference, but if you're an enthusiast it is something you would want to have. VLSD's are expensive and that's why Infiniti dropped it from the 5AT's Performance Tire & Wheel Package (but forgot to tell the marketing people that)!

Hold up folks- Go to the Infiniti website- two different animals- tire and wheel pkg is different from the sport pkg, and has been correctly identified and priced. I'm confident that both the M6 and Sport Pkg cars will have LSD.

Merry Xmas,
Derek

Have you bothered to read this thread from the beginning? Of course the Performance Tire & Wheel Package and the Sport Tuned Suspension Package are "two different animals". The only person confused here is you. Infiniti just recently changed both the price and the content of the Performance Tire & Wheel Package on their website to reflect the fact that the '05 cars with that option do not have the VLSD - that is the whole point of this thread. No one ever said that cars with the Sport Tuned Suspension Package didn't have the VLSD.

Read this thread from the beginning and you will (hopefully) understand this situation.

Hey guys. I am a 2005 G coupe owner but did get the sports package but almost went with the 18" package b/c it had the LSD (but ended up getting good deal on the 19"). I am also an attorney in Florida and can sympathize with all the 18" owners.

This was clearly a mistake on the part of Infiniti with several misrepresentations being made. I assume we will all wait to see what Infiniti does. It should be more than just refund the difference between the invoice people paid and the true value without the LSD. I assume they will offer a better solution to avoid problems...or least their PR guy should warn them of the floodgates if more is not done.

If any of you are not satisfied with what Infiniti delivers, I will be more than willing to represent you guys on a legal basis. I am sure there is some language in the multitude of papers we signed that gives them an out and I will start to gaze over it this weekend to find exact language. This, however, does not change the misrepresentations that were made. This was clearly wrong of Infiniti and something tells me they will correct it. If not, that’s what attorneys are for.

Thanks for the offer, G8tor20, I'm sure there will be many here who choose to pursue this.
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

All dealers will be receiving updated price information over the next few days. For those units in Infiniti dealer inventory, these vehicles will be re-invoiced at the correct MSRP. This process will begin shortly, and should be concluded by early next week. All previously shipped vehicles that are in your current inventory will be re-invoiced to reflect the new pricing."
I see where the price reduction is effective "immediately." I see how dealers will be receiving revised info for cars currently in inventory. Where does it suggest that vehicles that have already been sold and are therefore no longer in inventory or shipping will be intitled to a refund?

No hassle. It would seem appropriate but I don't see where it suggests that is so.

To hell with $250. I would demand the car I wanted in the first place. This is not something minor missing from the car.

I just don't understand why Infiniti couldn't just add VLSD, if its only $250. This sorta changed the 2005 look now, people with those 18" rims don't have what the 03-04 drivers have, with the same rims. Just don't make any sense to me and yeah, I would be mad to find this out later after getting my car, thats after I find out VLSD mean..hehe. Thank god I got the 6MT and don't have to worry about this issue. Good luck everybody.

It's official Infiniti is just offering us only $250. That is what the infiniti customer care who just called me. Absoultely ****ing pathetic when Ford/Mazda a non-luxury marquee offered a buy-back or free years of maintainence for misrepresenting the HP on the RX8.
