kring..thanks..I'll see what happens
07..really? That's strange. I Called Zenrin after I got off the phone with the dealership and spoke to a guy named Raj. I told him the issue and asked him what my options were..and he told me my coupon code was mine and good until the dealership activated it for the install. He didn't say anything about 3 days..
I will double check with them tomorrow to make sure I am covered. I appreciate the heads up.

I just got an email from my service advisor
"If there is an update there will be a cost associated with it I am not sure the cost. What you will need to do is go to zenrin.com you will purchase a coupon for an update then bring the coupon to us will need an id number from the coupon to download the update into our diagnostic computer then upload it into your car the process should take about 30-45 min. The cost for that is $50.00.
Their website will let you know if there is an update available for your car."
Seems pretty easy

I just was told by my local Infiniti dealer that the cost to upgrade my Navigation Maps in my '07 G35 would be $120 (plus, I have to buy the actual upgrade certificate separately.) I thought this would be a good discussion to start... for those of you that have had this done, what did your dealer charge you? I'm curious if there is a pattern and my local dealer is just high or if the prices are all over the place.

2nd dealer in So. Calif. now at about $110. It is amusing though that this latest service rep. insisted I didn't know what I was talking about and said "do this update yourself, it only takes buying a DVD with the updated maps and putting it into your DVD player". I asked if he wanted the service bulletin number and he was insulted and said "they have those and don't need that info" (hmmmm, then why don't you know about this? You are their service person who just handles Infinitis at the dealership). After I at least planted some doubt in his mind (read him the title of the service bulletin) and asked him to call me back, I got a call back that they had the bulletin but that they didn't have the parts kit to do this yet. He said "the bulletin says they were shipping in May so we just haven't gotten it yet." Then, another call 1 hour later "oh, we found the kit in our special tools cabinet so we can do this. It will cost you $110". I may check one more dealer in a city I travel to in central Calif. to see if they are any cheaper. Probably, these dealers figure that since this is the first time, they need to estimate high. I'll do it for the $110, but I've found in the past if you shop around a little, you can save money.

I did not really notice any substantial increase in the number of POI but Zenrin claims a 40% increase in some areas. The coverage area is complete now, see the website. Just get it done
