Well, I got the springs installed and 5/8" shaved off the rear spring mounts. The front looks perfect...I really like it, but I would like the rear about 1/4" lower. Anyway, now I'm in Calgary and it's killing me not to have my car.
Hey Ian, did you notice any settling of the springs when compared to initial install vs. couple months later?

I actually bought 2 bags of salt for the pool (about 80-100lbs) and put it in the trunk. It looked a little too low at that point. I guess I'll have to keep my gas tank full.

Ya that's right.... I have scored a set of 370Z springs to test with
Plans:
I'm trying to line up a test facility to give me some actual spring rates for he G & Z
Then it's a test fit for drop.
This may prove to be a completely worthless experiment, but my hopes are:
1. Knowing that the Z is a lighter car than the G, it is most likely sprung more aggressively.
result = close to a rate compatible with the OE sedan rate.
2. The drop? ....a complete unknown, but I'm hoping it's similar to what we were doing with 1st gen cars.

i am contemplating on putting in the front 370z springs as well, but concern that i'll have to spend money on camber kit, tires, etc. I am going to have to take it to a shop to get the springs installed. Any advise? thanks!

ooooh....this is interesting. Just curious, if you replace just the front springs, wouldn't the spring rate differences between the front(370z springs) and back(G35 stock) causes problems in the long run?
What i am saying is, aren't our front stock springs ratio are designed to be proportional to our back springs' rates? But now you are putting a higher spring rates on the front. wouldn't this mess up the 'engineering' side of things? Please enlighten me b/c i honestly don't know how spring rates on front and back affect each other.
