*Safety Alert* Is everyone using OEM Shank style lugnuts on their wheels?
I just mounted my new M-sport 19s and noticed that the OEM G35x 17" wheels and lugnuts are shank-style, while the M-sport 19" wheels are conical style.
The G35 shank-style lugnuts have a conical seat on them (not sure why, its kind of a mix) so I went ahead and installed them and they seemed to seat OK. I'm a little nervous tho. What is everybody else doing?

Shank (with conical seat at the bottom):
Standard Conical style (typically used on domestic and aftermarket wheels)

If you look at how the shank style seats on a conical wheel;
you have a VERY small contact patch.
That small contact area is subjected to MUCH higher loads (psi) because of that.
This will lead to stress fractures on the wheel & ultimately to failure.
If you've run 20-25K, I would inspect your wheels very carefuly.
They may be damaged & you don't know it.

This is why I posted it and what worried me...nobody seemed to discuss it, so either everybody knows without saying (doubt it, given the "conical end" of the 2nd gen shank style nuts) or a lot of people are using the wrong nuts as I almost did. Scary!

Seriously, I think it is pretty obvious that the lug nuts should not be used when you would try to install them. I know it certainly was very obvious to me when I tried some 1st gen wheels on my 2nd gen.
