Forced Induction?

Well first of all i would like to introduce myself. My name is Greg and i live in the Dallas area. I'm only 15 and me telling yall that for my first car is going to be a 08'G35 S AT you might think im a spoiled rich kid... but there is a story behind it.

My friend DJ is 18 and i know him through our church youth group, and his family is quite wealthy, his mom owns 2 successful advertising company's so money isn't a problem to him. He is selling me this G35 for 3 grand with 7 thousand miles on it. I know personally from driving it and knowing his family that he isn't scamming me and there is nothing wrong with this car so while hard to believe im getting this deal of a lifetime. But in march ill post pictures after we put a 500 dollar down payment on it.

Now that i got that out of the way i have a question. DJ wants to change it from N/A to a turbo or supercharger platform. So has anyone ever heard of giving a 2g sedan a forced induction system on stock internals or just in general on a 07' or 08'?

  1. Welcome
  2. I corrected the typo in your title
  3. and moved it to the tech section
  4. and finally, if you look through a page or two of threads, you'll find a long one about the first second gen TT

Edit: Found it for you - https://g35driver.com/forums/tech-07...rning-gtm.html

I don't get it. Why is DJ selling you his car for $3K? Even if his family's rich, that would be like giving you $25K in cash. Do his parents know about his promise to sell you the car for about 1/10 the market value?

Not being judgmental. Hell, my parents bought me a brand new 300ZX when I was in high school. Just curious.

If you can't buy the car outright for $3,000 right now (before he changes his mind), forced induction will be sticker shock for you. You'll need more than that kind of money really just "laying around" to fix things that can and will break.

I suggest getting the car a fast as you can before he changes his mind THEN start saving. It'll give you time to think about whether or not you really want to do forced induction cuz the car is plenty quick the way it is.

dude, i have some rich friends too as well as other people on the forums but i don't think they would ever just hand me 25000 like that lol...congratulations i guess

also, there is no need for a 15 yr old kid to have a turbocharged G...see you in hell if that's the case...why don't you first drive the car for a little while and then see if you need to do some FI to it...

From: Waltham Ma,
Hi and welcome, Never mind the fact that your friend is basicaly giving you the the car. I would hold off on FI untill you know how to drive, Not saying you don't but the G's power will surprise you. Mine did, Well the loaner does.. LOL.

Are you responsible for the 3K? My initial feeling is that you have to fork out the 3K, and you're parents will be paying the rest of it.

Either way...who cares...take the deal as quickly as you can before anybody changes their minds...and congrats!

Sorry, but the fact that your 15 and want to put a turbo in your car makes you an idiot. You should think about what your doing. You should really learn how to drive first. This is the most outrageous thing I have ever herd. A 15 year old with a turbocharged 2nd gen sedan.
Doesn't look like the car is going to last very long.

Turbo is not a thing that you put in your car and expect it to work normally everyday. Things break and need to be replaced and needs to be maintained.

This is just wow.

FAIL!!!
