Anyone have any suggestions for my post earlier on the previous page? The third one from the top. I need new tires asap but need all season tires rather than summer tires. Thanks for any advice/help

I went with 45psi all around and my car still seems a little wobbly. At 38psi it felt like I had stock sway bars . The Kuhmo's don't grip nearly as well but kept the car firm no matter how I turned it. I guess I just have to get used to these.

The front should be good, you may have to roll the rear fenders though. I currently have 245/255 with 20/25mm spacers and don't rub (fenders rolled).

I haven't tried bumping up above 38/37 yet, but will later this week. These Hankooks definitely grip like crazy, but I will admit that they aren't quite as direct feeling as my Pilot Sports. That being said, I find it to be a very subtle difference, and I can't say it makes a big difference on the street, at least not yet, especially w/all that grip available. For the price, it's a pretty good tradeoff.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've posted here, but I just wanted to share that I found a great deal on some Cooper Zeon tires recently at tires-easy.com..

I haven't had a chance to put these on my car yet, so I cannot attest to the performance of these tires, but other reviews I've seen make them out to be pretty damn good.

http://www.treadepot.com/review/z2xs.html
Anyway, the price for you guys will be a little more, since the rears are so wide, but I picked up 4x 245/35zr19 for $442 shipped!!
Mine are going on a 3000gt, so the handling characteristics will be different than what you guys might notice, considering the weight difference.. I can't remember if G35 coupes are heavy as hell or not.. I know my 3kgt was on a significant diet recently and is down to about 3700lbs (damn heavy cars)..
Anyway, here's the link to the tires that I picked up. They're $4.00 more each than they were 3 weeks ago, but still a good price for a US made tire.. (Yes, made in the USA, not like Bridgestone tires).

Have been running 40 F/39 R and this seems to be a decent pressure to improve the sidewall flex a bit. Overall I'm still quite pleased with these tires after 400 miles or so. They grip exceptionally well, turn-in sharply and provide decent feedback. They also continue to ride nicely and are very quiet as compared to my Pilot Sports. They lack the precision ("go-kart" feeling) of the Pilot Sports, and don't turn in quite as crisply due to the sidewalls, but it doesn't really seem to slow me down much and since my D-specs are set fairly stiff, it doesn't seem to affect real-world (meaning off the track) handling much if at all. I'm happy with these and for the price, as compared to the Michelins, they're a bargain. I would buy them again.

M45 tire size on G35 coupe?

Picking up some M45 wheels soon, and what is the best tire size to run for a G35 coupe without any VDC issues? Would installing 245/35/19 and 255/40/19 be a good idea? Can there be a better set up? And what kind of lowering springs would be idea for this set up? Any help is appreciate, thanks

Have had my 06 G35 6MT since 74 miles. The first set of "stock tires" lasted 30k.

I went with 245/40R19 for the front and 255/40R19 for the rear after the advice here (gah, what happened to my account?!?). These were the Falkens.

Never had a VDC problem and the tires have lasted to 65000. So basically 35000.

The rears are down to the tread bars while the inner fronts are showing thread.

Ride quality is roughly the same as stock at ~37PSI (I try to run between 35F and 40R). Rubbing has not been a problem, neither has traction even with severely worn front tires. Well, in the snow w/ chains they suck.

245/40 & 255/40 are doable on our 8/8.5" rims and don't cause (much of) a speedo issue and never a VDC issue.

However, it's time for new tires.

Went from nangkang ns-II to hankook ventus v12's.

The ns-II were total garbage and only lasted 5000km's. The front tires were so chopped up. The previous owner installed those tires. I got rid of it and have hankooks and I put 6000km on it and it's great! It made the twisties more fun to drive.

Also, the ns-II have such a small thread width compared the the hankooks enough though both tires are the same size....rofl!

NO.

235/35 would be a better choice than 225/35
