Can I do 255/35/19 in the rear?

 

Need advise! I intend to buy a set of Falken fk452 225/35/19 & 245/35/19 for my 06 coupe, is that a safe setup or should i go with oem sizes?

wheel are smaller than oem might throw off your vdc

I currently have the stock 19 with 225/40/R19 front and 245/40/R19 in the back. I needed some new tired and somebody recommend 245 all around. Make it ez to rotate.. is this possible and ok for car? or the rims on the car are actually different size and they can't be rotate? Or should I stick with the staggered setup.

The OEM 19s are different widths front and rear (8.0 and 8.5) and the front disc brake has an extra bolt on it to make sure you dont put a rear rim on the front.
As for what you are asking for, the OEM system was designed for staggerd size tires, both in width and height. If you went for the same tire on all 4 corners, It would effect handling and most likely send your VDC into crazy mode!
Stick with the staggered sizes and move up to the reccomended sizes in this thread. The tires and wheels will fit better in the wheel well and give you a better overall look, not to mention the with a bit wider tire, improved handling.

 

You can run 245's all around without trippin the VDC. I have 245x35x19's on my OEM Rays. You can run the rear wheels on the front, all you need to do is remove that useless bolt from the front caliper/hub's. My wheels have been switched like this for about 5K miles now and have had no problems with the VDC. I too like the ability to rotate my tires since my rears usually don't last that long.

 

I went ahead with the 245 all around. Car seems to be ok.

What bolt are you talking about?

 

There's a small bolt on each side of the car in the front, its near the studs/lugs. I think the only reason its there is to prevent mechanics from accidently putting the rear wheels on the front. I know the 06 coupes have them.

 

anyone have 25f/30r spacers? how did this affect your choice of tire sizes?...planning on lowering my car an inch as well so i dont wanna go too wide

 

How about 245/45/19 all around? Would it work?

 

You should be able to, you speedometer will be slightly off. Why 45 though?

 

It's weird what you coupe guys do the your rides.... reversing your staggered fit wheels and tires just so you can get more life out of them? Might as well get the same rim size all-around, cause you are defeating the design intentions of the staggered setup. To each his own. Have fun and enjoy your rides.

 

that puzzles me also..i thot that would be a no-no on staggered set-ups

 

i went with oem 19 sizes up front, and 255/40/19 and I LOVE IT. It's subtly aggressive, and I can def. feel the difference in grip.

 

A bit more comfortable than 40 and 35.
