I just had 245/35/19 and 255/40/19's installed this morning. No problems with the VDC or ABS. Car feels great. The fronts look a lot better in this size, they loose that tippy toe look that I hate. The rears look a little tall but thats the price to keep the VDC happy. I went with the Yokohama S- drives. So far in normal driving they feel great, real quiet and responsive in normal driving. I haven't pushed them yet but I'll keep you posted. Also, they've got a sexy tread pattern my opinion as well. they probably aren't the best performance tire out there but for the price they get pretty good reviews. $956.00 installed.

i have an 03 sedan with the 19s, do i have to go with staggered tire sizes, i know the wheels are dif widths but it seems like some people are doing 245/40/19 all around? id like to be able to rotate the tires...

im looking at the goodyear eagle gt's

should i do 245/40/19 all around

or
Front 245/35/19
Rear 245/40/19

or could i even go 245/35/19 all around, theyre a bit cheaper

this is for a sedan

^^^^^OK let me see if I can help out here.

1. Your car originally came with 215/55/17s all around. They have an OD (Outer diameter) of 26.3". You'll want to stay pretty close to this dimension when you upsize to the 19s.

2. The sedan's electronics are designed to run with square tire sizes, not staggered. You'll want to stay that way.

3. A tire with a 245 cross section can run on a wheel with a width of between 8.0 and 9.5". The coupe 19s are 8.5" and 9.0" front to rear.

2. 245/35/19s have an OD of 25.8", too small for you.

3. 245/40/19s are 26.7" in OD, are just slightly too large.

4. 235/40/19s are 26.4" in OD, just right. This size is also designed to run on a wheel with a width of between 8.0 and 9.5".

So, if it were me, I'd run the 235/40/19s all the way around. The 245/40/19s would be my second choice.

Oh, and if it were me, I would leave the wider wheels on the back, and not rotate your wheels.

Hope this helps

Lou

The g35 coupe 19" wheels are 8.0" and 8.5" respectively, unless he is talking about the g37 coupe wheels

Thank you very much!!!!

Helped me perfectly, you rock!!

Except that now that I'm researching tires in that size.....I want to cry they cost so much!!! But alas, the cost of having good looking rims...

Would it be a big problem if I ran 245/40/19s, even if they're slightly too large, what are the repercussions of using them?

As I said above, 245/40/19 would be my second choice.

Repercussions - Not much:

Speedometer will be a little off, will show too slow.

Performance will feel ever so slightly more sluggish with the larger diameter wheel/tire combo.

That's about it.

You're running a coupe with the stock size tires. Your situation has absolutely nothing to do with the current discussion

I'm glad I found this post.

So I picked up the G35 M6 last night... and it needed rear tires, so it has new Falken FK452's in the rear in the OEM 245/40/19 tire size. The fronts are still the OEM tires.

Now, I'm stuck with deciding which size Falken FK-452 size to run on the fronts.

Anybody rolling the yoko S.Drives in 235/35/19 & 245/40/19 OR 245/35/19 & 275/35/19? They seem to be as rated as well as the max performance tires with a whole lot better treadwear rating and their cheap to boot!

Any problems running either of the sizes above?

245/35/19 would be a great choice in the front
