Volk GT30 polish...

I've also asked this in car/detailing section, but the more responses the better What is everyone using to protect their polished lips on their rims? I have GT30s and am trying to find a good product.

Volk lips (unless they have been refinished after purchase) are not polished. They're anodized. Best way to keep them looking nice is some quick detailer (like you'd use on your paint)

If they look scratched up and hazed then they are probably too far gone to fix and I'd recommend taking them to a wheel shop and having them actually polish the lips this way you can use metal polishes down the road to achieve the like new shine.

However, I have fully anodized wheels and my two favorite detailers are turtle wax ICE detailer (although Turtle wax products are ****) is great and Mothers Showtime.

if I had 2-piece welded WORK wheels and wanted to get 3-piece in the same width and offset, what measurements would I need to take from my current wheels to ensure the new one's sit exactly where the old one's did, but still clear brembos and potentially get more lip. WORK makes it so easy with their R-disc option and sizing charts, and the barrel gets bigger with every mm that goes more negative. From what I get on 3 piece barrels are available in exact inches regardless of your offset, yes?

You have it pretty much right, although I'm not positive I understand what you're asking.

You're trying to order some 3 piece modular wheels to get rid of your 2 piece welded and you want them to sit exactly how they were (same specs and everything...) and you just want to make sure they clear your brakes? All that you need to do is order the wheels with the correct disk size. Which for brembos is probably a mid disk, which will give you some more lip. However, if you want hard evidence you need to find works disk sizing template. It should be somewhere on their site (I know SSR and Weds have them) and it will give you a paper template that will help you figure out how much space you need to clear brakes. But, if you don't have much room between the spokes of your wheels and the caliper right now, then you won't have much room to play with when you order new wheels. You'll need to either go wider or go with lower offsets to get more lip.

Best way to do it is to call Work or talk to ravspec or whoever you're ordering through give them the specs you want and tell them you have brembos. They talk with work and they'll get you the best option with max lip size.

LMK if that answered your question

Hey i have a question...im planning on buying some volk gtcs that are 20x9.5 in the front and 20x10 in the rear, the rims have a 2.5in lip in the front and 3.5 in the rear. I have brembo brakes on my g35 and it is stock. What size spacer should i use for the front and back if i want the volks to clear the brembos? Not sure what the offset is for the rims either. But will i have to roll my fenders also? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

You provided ZERO info that will aid anyone in helping you.

1. If you don't know the offset, Never buy the wheels.
2. The widths are wrong, I highly highly doubt there is a set of volks that aren't fake or have something wrong with them with a .5" stagger.
3. It's not the offset you need to know in order to find out if they clear your brakes. Its the disk type. If the owner is dumb enough not to know the offsets then he definitely won't know the disk.

Unless the wheels are $1000, pass on them and find something else.

hmmm i see. well i dont think they are knockoffs cause i looked at them in person and they look pretty legit. the 5in stagger i believe they do make them in 20x9.5 and 20.10 if you look on vividracing.com they are sold individually. is there any way i can find out the offset? and disk type? and these rims are almost $5000 shipped to where i live which is hawaii and he wants my 18in stocks plus 2300 cash on my side. so i am kina going back and forth on it cuz it seems like a pretty good deal. but plus i have to get spacers. the rims are coming off his 350z

you might not need spacers depending on the rims. majority of the volk rims out right now clear the brembos without spacers. if you want to get spacers so that it looks flush with the body then you would need to roll your fenders to prevent rubbing.

The stickers on the inside of the barrels have width, offset and disk type printed. If their is no stickers the wheels are old. Measure the back spacing in that case and come back.

So i just got my rims on my '04 g35 coupe.

19x9.5 +22 all around, 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear Kumho Ecsta SPT's
Not lowered at all and fenders are not rolled. Was told i should have more than enough clearance..

When i hit bumps and especially when more a couple people are in my car the tires rub, primarily in the front but in the back too when the weight shifts a lot.

I didnt get my alignment yet, will this help the problem?

To an extent.... are you lowered? They can be done.

Well you shouldn't need the alignment since you didn't change and suspension. It COULD be out of wack though.

9.5 +22 should not be rubbing what so ever on a stock height car. The fronts sound like they're probably rubbing on the fender liner screw at about 12 O'clock. Remove that and see if the rubbing goes away. The rear sounds like you have blown struts or the rear is sagging out and banging wheel.

Find someone to roll the fenders to be safe but I have never heard of a coupe rubbing with specs like that. My Z has unrolled fenders and its 10.5 +22 (12mm more aggressive than yours) and it doesn't rub even in hard corners.

Hello. Just picked up some rims but now I'm looking for spacers! Rims right now are ...

Front = 20” x 9” +37
Rear = 20” x 10” +40

Dropped on Tein S-Techs. 2004 coupe.

will +25 mm spacers all around be fine without rubbing? Can I go +30 without rubbing?
