Hi everyone I have question that has been bugging me for a really long time!

I recently bought oem 19" rays for my 2006 g35 but did not realize that it was outfitted with WINTER tires(bridgestone Blizzaks). The problem is I live in california and have no real use for snow/winter tires. Do these have any affect on the handling, traction, mpg, handling, etc??????? If they do is it worth buying a new set of all season tires???

Replace the tires with all-seasons or summer performance tires. Handling and whatnot will be affected.

How would 225/40 255/40 work and what are the pro and cons of either one?
As said, not reason to run any other size. Those are suitable for the widths and offsets.

Thanks!
Yea basically, but you kinda need to pick your lips and barrels to start calculating. If you lay the wheel flat and measure the distance from the table/floor whatever to the back of the mounting flange (as long as they are a drop face) that will be your only way to determine offset. So say that distance is 15mm.... You get a 5" lip and 5" barrel, your specs will be roughly 10" -15. No way to be exactly bang on with this but it will be within a mm or two of that measurement. Best way to do it, is just calculate all your lip and barrel sizes in MMs and forget about inch conversions. AKA become Canadian for a little bit haha.

Buy new wheels is how you can be aggressive.... Those wheels are even weak for a sedan.

With those tires it would!

That's like a very minimal stretch with a VERY aggressive stretch....You'd be better off with something like 235/35 and 275/30... if you want the stretched look.

I'm currently running 225/35 and 275/30 on 19x10 and 19x11.5

Also what's a better tire as to durability

Michelin Pilot Super Sport
Continental Extreme Contact
They'd be fine as is but you may want spacers down the road, that's to your taste.

I pick Michelin Pilot sports every time. Best summer tire on the market hands down.

Winter tires are basically the same compound as drag radials.... your gas mileage will eat ****, your cornering will suffer severely and the overall feel of the car will just be wrong. Not to mention you'll wear through the tires in no time at all since they are VERY soft in your warm climate.

Switch to some summer tires before putting them on the car.

hey guys, need to start finding tire fitment for my new wheels that i finally got in. They are 20*9 and 20*11. Im not positive on the offset as to they were custom wheels and i need to get the exact number. When me and the builder were last talking, we were trying to get them in the +10-12+ range, which is whati think they are, but i want to get exact...my car is fairly low, but not slammed. My last wheels we 10.5rear and 8.5 front and i was running 225/35 and 255/35 which gave me a mild stretch in the front, but aggressive in the rear. Can i use these tires sizes again, or do i have to go a little wider to make up for the differ in rim sizes?!?!?

What were your offsets with the old setup?? Reason why you are doing a full 2 inch jump from front to rear wheel widths??

old set up was 20x8.5 +8 and 20x10.5 +5, pretty sure, been a minute since i had them on. Was the Xxr 521 with 25mm offsets all around. But yeah im pretty sure that was it. Goin with that rim sizes just because that wht builder came up with, no major reason...

It's kind of hard to compete when it's one of the best out there! Even the price compared to other Michelin models is pretty fair.

Tell your builder to learn how to build wheels...I can't tell you anything until you sort out your offsets.

Hope he didn't charge you for it!

Victor, whatever you wanna make on em.

Can Volk GT-S 19" faces be put on to a 19" step lip barrel? The step lip making it a 20" wheel I mean. Just an idea I had.
