40mm spacers make me cringe, if you're going to try and get down to a -10 offset on a stock wheel you need to just buy new wheels.

8" sitting that far from stock hub is a hazard.

got a noob question...

i've got an 05 coupe w/ stock 18's, anyone know what tool(s) i need to remove the lug nuts? the lug nut wrench i've got now is too big (not sure what the size is, but it fits most stock lugs). also, it looks like there are locks on one lug on each wheel, how do i get those off?

I can't say for sure what you mean about the lug nuts, I am assuming perhaps you just have the wrong size wrench?

Anyway, in regards to that single lug nut, that's the lock nut to keep someone from easily jacking your wheels. There is a special 'key' that looks like a special tip with the correct matching pattern in it to unscrew that single lug on each wheel.

Lookup 'locking lug nut kit' or something on google to get an idea of what I mean.

Hope this helps :-)

ooooohhh, i see - the key was hiding under some random junk so i had to dig a little to find it. also, found the right wrench. it's been there the whole time, just also had to work a little to find it. guess i've just got the dumb today...

anyways, thanks for your response!

What are you dropped on? That will help us decide. And how much camber are you willing to run?

Alright, I appreciate the help I received earlier in this thread about my wheels/offsets. I got them on this weekend, and they didn't looked more flush than I thought they would, but maybe thats just because I haven't dropped yet. My question is, how close is too close to the brembos? I've searched this and many forums, and I can't get a clear cut answer. Also if there is a thread that I may have missed, please let me know, and I'll check that out.

Some of my friends recommended a couple of washers, I'm not really to into that idea. I was thinking about a set of 5 mm spacers, but I just wanted to see what you all thought. Here's some pics:
