Bad tires = Noisy ride...

Okay guys, I have been rolling on a set of 350Z wheels I bought pretty cheap w/ OKAY tires. I bought them with the intentions of them being only temporary, as I was hoping I could roll them for a month (which will be next weekend) but for the past 3 weeks they have slowly worn down to where I had one rear tire blow out - Had it replaced with a used tire.

A little before I replaced that rear, I began to hear a thumping that gets going once I hit 10+ mph. It feels like one of the tires has a massive lump.

I have replaced 3 out of 4 tires, the 2 fronts today - thinking the thump would go away - well it hasn't.

Could this be the ONE LAST rear tire (which is very bald) that I have not replaced, or could something be broken??

There is no clicking, knocking or any other noises, just a thumping that I associate with a lump in the tire... An input? I have already spend nearly $120 on used tires to get me through ONE more week - Need I spend on one more, or can I survive?

1st off if the tire is bald replace it.
Now if the thumping is still present it may be a flat spot in one of the rims.
Is there any vibration in the steering wheel?
When was the last time you had an alignment?
One of the wheels may not be balanced correctly.
Any mechanic worth his salt should be able to diagnose the prob.

Thanks for the reply. I will get back to you on that, I have an idea. I am going to throw my spare on and if the thumping stops, then problem solved.

And I was aligned a little over a month ago after I lowered the car.

So if the thumping continues after the spare is applied, then I know there is a problem with SOMETHING aside from tires. I wont have the money or time this week to take it to get checked, so when next weekend comes around and I get my 370z wheels, I can then take it in IF when all 4 are replaced it still thumps.

Bingo.

Either a rim is bent, or you have broken belt in your not new tire.

Well, the rim was not bent. Noise continues after spare was applied.

What do you mean proper?? - I had 20's w/ new tires, but I decided after catching a nail that I wanted to go lower, thus picking up the 350z wheels -

Which I did not have to pay for for 2 weeks. I just picked them up and left, so despite their cosmetic condition - I got a good deal.

The whole reason behind running on USED tires was because I planned on getting rid of the 350 wheels for 370 wheels, but the local seller backed out - I have all legit NEW tires now.

With that said, I have a bad wheel bearing - so, next pay check I will replace that.
