OK.. I called my tire guy and he doesn't think so.. That's a truck tire. I did a search on tire rack & Big O and they do not carry such a beast (in 18's). I think it's doubtful, but you never know.
Doing a calc on the correct tire diameter for this size, you are looking at tire with an overall diameter of about 37.84 inches.

315mm tire on a 9.5" wheel? He is either lying about the wheelsize, or he is a moron -you take your pick.
In regards to making larger than 315mm tires for 17" or 18" wheels, there are a handful out there.
Here are the specs for a 1997 Dodge Viper:
Front 17.0" x 10.00" silver alloy wheels
Rear 17.0" x 13.0" silver alloy wheels
P275/40ZR/17 front tires
335/35ZR/17 rear tires

tinman, your ride is sweeeeeeet.
now on to business, how do you like thr bf's?
Noise, traction, wet traction? What size do you have on your rear's?
ps: i've had 275's on my stock 17x8in for almost a year. no problems.
as for the 315's... 10in+ maybe, 10.5+
