Does the PA15-NIS work with an Infiniti G35 with Bose stereo + factory navigation? Crutchfield says it won't work...

I have gone through all 11 pages and I do not see anyone asking this, so I have a new question.

First, I have been using the PA15-NIS for about six months now. It has been great. I only use the Direct Mode though ("SAT" and then "5"). I don't like the other modes. I don't mind selecting a Playlist directly on the ipod. My only issue is that I can only control the volume using the steering wheel. I would really like to control the track changes using the steering wheel too though, but I can't. I have to use the actual "Tune" button on the radio itself for this right now.

I am assuming then that the steering wheel control is the same as the "Seek/Track" button on the radio. Would it be possible to hack the PA15-NIS by rewiring it to read the "Tune" command as the "Seek/Track" command and then get both volume and track control on the steering wheel?

Has anyone tried this, or does anyone have a better suggestion?

If you go into "folder" mode you will be able to change tracks using steering wheel controls.

Yeah, I just don't like being locked out of the ipod and not seeing the true display on the ipod. The Floder Mode just is not for me, but maybe that is what I have to give up. I am hoping to find a hack though.

Have you tried holding down the steering wheel track/seek buttons (up or down) until the ipod track changes? (takes 2-3 full secs)

This method works in both modes on my 2006 radio PA15-INFI

I have tried holding it, but it doesn't work for me on my 2004. That is even more frustrating now knowing it works on the '06.

No, but I installed it so I can easily get to it. I will check. Maybe I got something wrong.

Why do you ask? Do you know of a special setting that is not in the manual that enables both?

So.. just to confirm; PA15-NIS is all I need for a 05 coupe w/ nav? Do I need to buy any additional cables? Also, does this unit charge the ipod?

Thanks all!!

What functions are you referring to? I am trying to get the steering wheel to control volume and track changing in direct ipod mode. I only get the volume control at this point in this mode. Does anyone have both the ability to control volumen and track changing in direct mode on the steering wheel? If yes, what year is your's and do you have bose, navi, sat radio?
