USA Spec Pa15-NIS
Hi!! I recently install the usa spec pa-15 nis and I notice something unusual.
The clock on my radio does not show up but everything works perfectly.
I check my connection and everything was connected properly.
I leave the dip switch to default. Everything was set to "on" from 1-5.
Currently I'm using the direct mode but would like to be able to have access to my nano playlist folders. Can someone tell me how to set it up. I follow the instruction from the manual that came with the device but it wouldn't work.
I have a bose system without the navi and sat.
I have a radio button, disc, pty and cd button on my bose stereo.
Has anyone had this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Installed PA15-NIS in my 03.5 Sedan with non-Bose radio with SAT button. dip switches off-off-off-on (direct mode + folder mode). the presets don't work entirely as described in the manual, the artist display is iffy. the steering wheel control doesn't work, but i don't care, since direct mode works perfectly. i listen to pandora most of the time, and prefer to control the iphone 3gs via the iphone itself. also, the phone gets charged in direct mode but not in folder mode. enjoying not having to use the friggin tape adapter.
2006 g35 6mt
I looked at all the pages but haven't found an answer to the question burning in my head.
I have an '06 G35 6MT
-No Nav
-No SAT Tuner
-Only CD, RADIO, PTY/CAT, & DISP buttons on the Dash
-I am* pre-wired
I've been reading that the PA15-NIS is the best solution since the INFI will only plug directly into a SAT tuner.
However, I spoke with Joe from USA Spec Tech Support and told me that despite my current setup, the INFI will* work using the pre-wired harness from the rear left trunk. The harness supplied with the INFI does not necessarily need to be plugged into a SAT tuner, which in effect, bypasses that need. (Apparently the kicker is that all you need is to be pre-wired)
Has anyone tested this yet? I have not made a decision yet as I do not want to rip apart the dash for the NIS, I do not want to spend 220+ for the ipod integration kit from everything35.com, and want to have the AUX port for future mp3 players (just in case).
If this holds true, I bet this will solve a lot of similar headaches with NIS installs, as I believe from a certain year and up all Infinity's are pre-wired.. Thoughts?

Interesting issue. PA15-NIS installed in my car has no problems playing music from my iPhone 3GS and my wife's iPhone 3GS. However, when I connect my brother-in-law's iPhone 3GS (same firmware), there's no sound at all, and after a few seconds stereo display "ANTENNA" as if the device is disconnected - but his iPhone continues showing that it's playing, and it's being charged. Soft reset of his iPhone didn't help. Anyone seen this?
OK. PROBLEM! The text in my display just went bezerk..instead of titles and names of songs, all I see is question marks and this weird chinese lookin symbol. If anyone knows why this is happening, please provide input, THANKS!
My initial response would be to unplug the car battery and see if a reset will solve the issue. Other than that there's always the tech support. Have you tried either yet?
Hi everyone. I read over this thread and could not find the answer to my question. Here's my situation(If it's too long, read the part in bold for my question):
I have an 03 (I don't think it's an 03.5, the manufacture date says 02/03 inside the driver side door) G35 Coupe. My radio has these buttons on the front: Disc, Tape, FM/AM, SAT. It is a Bose system. After inputting the Year/Make/Model on USA Spec, it instructed me to buy the Pa15-NIS.
I took apart the dash yesterday and hooked up the Pa15-NIS to my radio and it would not work. I believe everything was connected right. When I plug the iPod in (it's a iPod Touch 4G) it would recognize the iPod by making the sound it makes when you plug it into the computer, but when I hit "Music" on the iPod, it would just lock me out and say "Accessory Connected". I tried all the options in the USA Spec instruction manual and I could not get it to play any music from my iPod at all.
I called USA Spec Tech support and they asked me what year my car was, I told them it was an 03 Coupe and they said that their product does not work with the early 03 G's. But, it clearly says on the back of the box that the unit works with all 03 G Coupe radios. For the G35 Sedan, it was 03.5 - 07. I told the guy on the phone it was a coupe, but maybe he misunderstood and thought it was a Sedan? I will be pissed if this doesn't work with the early 03 Coupes. Is the Tech correct or was he just an idiot and I still have hope?
Sorry for the long post, thanks in advance for any help.

I know the PA series went through a software upgrade (PA-11 --> PA-15) to accommodate for newer iPods/phones as well as later Infiniti models. Perhaps try to speak with tech support and see if the PA-11 would work?
Other than that, are all the switches set to ON? / Can you access direct mode? If all else fails, have you tried using the optional auxiliary port on the PA? go get an RCA to 3.5mm (male to male) cord and test if music can play that way.
Keep us posted!

I took a leap of faith and purchased the PA-15INFI on my 06 G35 (no SAT tuner, but pre-wired) IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY!
It plugs right into the prewired harness in the rear left trunk. It literally took 20 minutes to install (the longest part was actually snaking the wire through the car)
Not only does it play my music from my iPhone 4, it also allows me to stream anything (Pandora, Last.FM, YouTube, etc. basically anything that emits sound) into my car. This essentially gives the middle finger to satellite radio!
Don't spend time/frustration on ripping apart the dash for the NIS. FIRST check if you are pre-wired. If so, order the INFI!
Hey mobbdeep, I can understand your frustration with the product details saying one thing and the tech support saying another, not to mention the time spent ripping apart the dash!

The iPod locks itself out and no music plays no matter how many times I hit 'Disc' followed by 5/6 or 'SAT'.
I didn't try the AUX port, that's a good idea. I decided to put my dash back together since it was getting dark out.
I think I may call tech support back on Monday to see if a different tech gives me the same answer. I'm not sure I want to tear my dash apart again if this thing won't even work, although I do wish I would have tried the AUX option.
If anyone can vouch that the PA15-NIS works with the early 03 G Coupes, I'll feel a lot better.

OK, so today I took my radio apart again and tried to reinstall the PA15-NIS, this time taking my time and following the instructions in the manual.
I'm happy to say I got it to work and it's great! The sound quality is unbelievable, I'd argue it's even better than CD. I'm so happy to be able to take my CD book out of my car and just use my iPod for all my music. Much more convenient.
If anyone out there has an early 03 G Coupe (not 03.5), just know that it will work with our radios! Just take your time and follow the instructions in the manual, lol.

Everything is working great for me but I have this minor issue:
- When I plugin my Iphone 3GS, the message pops up saying its not a compatible thing, but it still charges the phone etc, its really annoying...
- As soon as I plug my phone in, the music starts playing right away, same song everytime, it drives me nuts
- There are 2 aux modes now on my stereo, why? and whats the difference? Seems to work the same for me on both, so why do I have 2 now?
Thanks!
