I forked your questions into this post: https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...n-install.html

There isn't a list, because the parts don't exist. Nobody makes a replacement trim panel or climate controls. Extending the wires to the factory controls and relocating the components would leave space to install a radio there, but I don't think anyone's tried it.

Maybe me when/if I ever move to a G37?

Finished a bulk of my install guys. All that's left is the microbypass and Axxess ASW-1. Still waiting for them to arrive but ive extended all the wiring for them into my center console. So when its time to install them, i wont need to pull out the stereo.

Does anyone know if the 3.5mm Steering wheel control plug is pretty much the same as a 3.5mm headphone/aux cable? I bought a 3.5mm male to female extension cable and have fitted that so i just plug the Axxess ASWC-1 to it when it arrives.

Also waiting on the Double Din trim kit, but i ended up making my own. I used the top trimming of my old climate control/stereo fascia and cut it down to size. Then added double sided tape and stuck it to the bottom. Because its OEM, the colour is an exact match with the rest of the fascia. More pictures of this can be found in the Double Din thread.

Returned my BOSS stereo which didn't work and ended up going with a Pioneer AppRadio 3 cuz my local stereo place had it in stock and it was the best looking HU there (didn't wanna go thru the internet again). Its beautiful really. Got it all flush mounted, fire it up and about a 1/8 section of the screen on the left has green lines and a dead spot on it. This stereo install is seriously busting my *****. Returning it for a new one.

That's just unlucky. You will learn to like the app radio. The part that is unfortunate is that the jailbreak dev just up and left out of the picture. So all we have is locked app support .

More problems with my install. (How long have I been working on this?)

So, "pro" install went horribly. First one they mounted great, but the screen was broken. Finally replaced the HU (after 3 weeks of me calling and nagging). This time they mounted it all ****-eyed (and scratched the **** out of my center console to boot).

Anyhow, I'm back to mounting it myself because those guys were retards, and I've got it pretty flush, pretty even, lookin good. Went to put it back and the screen won't open. Maybe I made it too flush? Somethings blocking it. Any tips so I'm not going back n forth hoping I get it right every time?.

Motorized faces usually need more room around the edges to work, so you'll want to inset the trim ring away from the moving face.

Thanks for the guide Wrathernaut!

I ordered the Pioneer AVIC-8000NEX and I was wondering if I should indeed use the Metra Axxess for the steering wheel adapter or use the PAC SWI-PS?

I'm just not sure if the main page is updated so I just wanted to ask. The AVIC8000 has the Siri voice function and I was just wondering if it would be possible to map that?

Thanks

This is all for a 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan, by the way.

Hey, at some point this might hit your shifter and pause midway... All you have to do is push it back to get it to work correctly again... It will give you error messages until you push it back. Food for thought GDirtyRock.

It looks like PAC only supports voice for the older units, but there's a slight possibility that the NEX uses the same wired remote command to do siri hands-free.

Only the AVIC-Z110BT, Z120BT, Z130BT, Z140BH and the AVIC-X920BT, X930BT, X940BT will support the Voice Recognition function via wired remote input.
I'd try the avic411.com forums for better expertise with those units, but looking around I'm not seeing that anybody has mapped a button to do the voice commands/siri handsfree.

Okay thanks for the info. So would you recommend simply going with the Metra or the Pac? I don't really care that much about mapping the button. I'm leaning towards the Metra since you say in the front page to basically use that with almost everything but I just wanted to make sure.

Yes, go with the Metra. Since it's also got upgradeable firmware, if it doesn't support stuff now, it may in the future.
