Thanks SDG35619. I really appreacite you clearifing that for me. My next question is what would be a reasonable price to pay for the screen and the nav/dvd system. I live in Toronto Ontario, not sure if you're in the US, any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Hey Black,

Iam I decerning correctly that you figured out a way to operate and adjust teh NAV while driving? This was one of the reasons why I was reluctant to get this unit. Also is it user friendly?
If you mentioned it already in the thread, just slap me. It's kinda late and I may have missed a relavent comment in the thread.

After you have all the components, find a reputable car audio place and get it installed.

I'm sure it would work but I'm not sure if there will be room for stock nav (since it has moving parts) and the Pioneer deck...someone else can maybe chime in on this.

Hopefully you didn't use every wire on the Pioneer wire harness. Find the wire you didn't use, and just pull it out of the harness.

I used the auto mute lead wire. After you pull it out, you will see that the wire has a connector on the end like this...

There is 1 empty slot on the harness next to the ground wire.

Insert this wire into that slot. You should feel it "click" into place...

Ground this wire and the E-brake wire and you're good to go!!

You can install this unit regardless of whether you have the factory nav or not.

You can find good prices online, but don't expect a factory warranty. I heard of people paying as low $1000 for this unit.

If you want a warranty, I suggest buying from an authorized dealer such as crutchfield. They have it $1200 with a factory warranty.

Good question, I don't think anyone has opened up an 06 yet.

Since the bluetooth is integrated into the factory HU, my guess is that it would not work with an aftermarket HU.

So what needs to be soldered exactly?

The resistor, led and button? or is there more?

Thanks.

Hey blkonblk. I had a few questions. did you figure out if thw switch on the vss wire work?. can you also grab the vss wire from the stock head unit w/out bose? and last was it difficult installing the pac? I just ordered mines a few days ago. Can you tell me what wires tapped into what or how the whole process goes when installing the pac? Just trying to prepare myself before the install to make the process go alot faster. Im trying to figure out a way to hide the unit when im away from the car. You should see my set up on my civic to hide my kenwood ddx-7015. I'll try to get pictures up to give an idea on how to hide the unit.
