I saw this post a while ago, and just re-read the whole thing. Blackonblack, I think that's the nicest mod I've seen yet, and it looks so much better than the stock nav system. Great job. I never put much thought into getting the nav when I bought the car, but now that I've seen your install, I'm very tempted.

few questions:

Did you modify your steering wheel control to control your head unit, or is it just disabled?

If your steering wheel control does work, how did you modify it so that it works?

Thanks.

This has already been covered a few times, but since this is your first post I'll cut you some slack...

In order to keep your steering wheel controls functional, you will need the PAC SWI-PS adaptor.

They're 12" subs. I had to make a custom box in order for them to fit.

A/C Controller

Is the A/C Controller necessary? Did you have to purchase a wiring harness and if so, how did you know how to connect everything to infiniti's wiring? Any more information would be great because I really would like add an avic-d1 to my 04 G35, but don't really know that much about it.

Dude, you need to read the thread. I did a writeup on my install as well. Do a search You need:

Dash Kit - AC Controller, Faceplate, Bracket if 03/04. Yosi at J's Garage has the kits.
Wiring Harness - Scosche NN03
Nissan 2 Prong Antenna Adapter

You may want a steering wheel controls adapter from PAC Audio as well.

If you're not into car stereo, I wouldn't recommend trying this install yourself.

How do you hook up the speed sensor and reverse brake light wire? Is there a wiring diagram out there to hook up all the wires correctly?

That looks incredible! Went to Circuit city yesterday to see the unit....but unfortunately that unit doesn't play DVD's..so I'd actually have to buy a separate DVD player and hook it up.

BlackonBlack...I'm assuming you had to cut it to fit the unit? If so...was it hard..what was used. My b/f said he can probably do it, but like to get some feedback from someone who's already installed it.

Nevermind my last response...perhaps I should read the whole thread before posting! .

Nonetheless...the install is beautiful. I just emailed the guy in Japan for the dd kit...I'm still mad that I have to purchase a new a/c control...that's whats making that kit so expensive...

I have the DD kit and controller for sale. I ordered it from Yoshi. I purchased it for my G/F's '05 Coupe, but she decided that she like the look of the OEM radio and didn't want me to chance it. PM me, or email me if you or anyone else is interested. JKashat@comcast.net
