I am having that "hit UNLOCK twice and it LOCKS back up problem"......

I am going to try Kevins proposed solution ....will install new diode over this weekend..and will update you all....

please do, i have the diode for it, but (due to phatbox) haven't had the time to put it in.

if you have a diode, all you have to do is splice in the new one, in the blue wire. you will want the stripe on the diode facing the control box. if it is not facing the box, the diode will not let any current through and you windows will not go up.

Depending on how and where you mounted your module this could be a 5 minute fix. My module is easily accessible if I remove the switch finisher in the door. I can then remove the module for testing/tuning or whatever. I only took the whole door panel off the first time I installed it!

We received all the parts, including more circuit boards, to build a large quantity of modules. I only had time to build one tonight, and it is currently installed in my car. It has worked all day flawlessly, no random door locks, no one up / one down problem. I have a busy weekend and then I'm heading out to Baltimore for two more weeks. I hope to get enough modules built this weekend to satisfy our backorders, but I'm not sure that will happen.

**UPDATE*** on fix

To all wondering... (Kevin also)

I GOT the new Diode from Radio Shack today (prt# 276-1103..89cents) along with a pack of small heat -shrinkable tubing ($2.49)

I cut open the heat shrinkable tubing with the old diode,removed the old diode and soldered the new diode in place of it..yes, stripe facing the box and so forth....

It definaltely fixed my "pressing unlock twice quickly and doors lock again " problem.

I tested that about 5 times and NO return of the locking back quickly on its own problem....

HOWEVER the having to press LOCK 4 times instead of two is still exists.

So one down , one strange issue to go...

I want it back! I'll send you a brand new one and a self addressed envelope. I need to run some diagnostics on the chip/hardware to determine the problem. This is the only one doing this, and I want to find out why! PM your address and I'll send one out tomorrow.

well, i just swapped out the diode..on the blue wire. But no dice..still does it, just like before. Hit the unlock twice in a row and doors relock immed....and yes, the band on the diode is def facing toward the unit, triple checked it.

Everything else on the unit functions just fine, best i can tell. Only have to hit the remote 2 times. I even tested 1 window up and 1 down and it will put the 1 that was down up all the way, no probs there.

I used radio shack 276-1101, 50v 1 amp.

Strange, out of the 30+ we've shipped out already we have had 4 that had the 'locks by itself when unlocking' bug. 3/4 of them have been fixed by replacing the diode. Did you cut out the old diode and install a new one? Or did you just install the new one inline with the old one? It shouldn't make a difference, but so far everyone has cut out the old one. I'll make you the same deal, PM me your address RedWillow and I'll send you out a new one tomorrow, as long as you don't mind sending me the one you have now for testing.

Go ahead and keep it in until I send you the new one. Then it will be a simple swap. I'm in no hurry to get yours back right now. The diode used shouldn't be too critical, as all is needed is a generic diode. My thinking right now is that the heat from soldering the diodes is causing them to fail. From now on I am NOT going to solder the wires so close to the diode. Hopefully this will fix this ocassional problem.

I believe you can add mine to the list of "locks by itself". If this is the same problem the others are having.

My module works fine when programmed to lock the doors. But when I program my module NOT to lock the doors, it initially works, but somehow the program reverts back to automatically locking the doors again.

I just noticed that it does that and having tried to digagnos why yet. It still has the other window roll up problems that I described in my email to you also. I haven't gotten around to changing out the diode yet, but will do it tonight.
