track settings for advanced driving school
I have an '04 coupe 6mt with '05 350Z springs, stillen sways f&r currently med/med, D-Specs currently 4/4, OE 18" wheels & Pilot Sports.
I will be attending a track school on a short 1.5 mile tight, technical course with 80' of elevation change for two days in June. I am looking for suggestions on any changes to my current set up along with tire pressure suggestions.
Thanks

JMO..
I don't think there's any need to change suspension settings you have now.
What tire pressure are you running now?
Can you get air at the track??
Some of the track guys can jump in...
But I think many chalk the sidewalls to see how much they're rolling over on the sidewall.
Then play with the pressure.

I'll be running my D-Spec, '03 350Z Springs combo on the track for the first time this weekend. Right now on the street I have my settings at 3.5 from full stiff all around and that feels perfect too me. I felt 4 was a hair too soft although comfortable. So at the track I plan on starting at 2 all around and adjusting from there. My Stillen sways will be at med/med and my camber will be -2.5 F/ -1.8 R.
Jim, yeah I picked up a set of Toyo RA-1's for the track and running the stock camber would be too unfriendly to the tires. So I got a set of Cusco A-Arms to be able to run more neg camber on track days. I'm sitting at -1.8 L -2.1 R for the street. I can go around -3 max if need be.

Thanks. Some track info Balzz sent me said +5 psi from factory recommendations is a good starting point. There is no air at the track but I have a compressor with tank I may bring there. I may also firm up the DSpecs a bit from where they are now too. Can't play with rears up there though.

G/L at the track.
I had a similar question a few days ago. Perhaps some of those replies will be of assistance to you.

Thanks. I live in a small city and low populated area with a small track about 20 miles from home. Here is the link.http://www.atlanticmotorsportpark.com/
And you??
I would bump up the stiffness in the rear sway bar, but that's just my preference for oversteer. Especially since it's a "driving school." The idea is to take your car to the limit and maybe a little bit beyond right? ;-)
