Which FSTB can/should I get?

I've got a Stillen S/C, so I've never really looked into getting a front strut tower brace before. I'm going to be swapping to a Vortech kit, hopefully this weekend, so I will be reinstalling the stock lower collector and a Crawford V5 upper plenum. I also have Tein Flex coilovers with the EDFC motors on top. I know this combo of plenum and EDFC complicates things, so I'm hoping some of you experts out there can help me out!!

Which FSTBs will fit with my setup? What are my options?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

You got ARC, VRT/GT Spec, and Richie's (ARC replica). The ARC/Richie's will fit the Vortech no problem. I'm sure that wa2good can confirm if their bar fits the Vortech or not.

Those are basically your 3 options for now...until Stillen's FSTB releases. Supposedly Stillen has released it already but no word from any members about buying/picking one up. Also with the Stillen, I don't think there is room for height adjustment so you might have a problem with your V5 plenum.

The VRT/GT Spec bar comes towards the front of the car so it has no problems with aftermarket plenums. ARC/Richie's also has no problems with plenum mods.

Which one to buy??? Of course I'll be basis =)

richie: Thanks for the quick reply and informative post. Looks like your bar fits my plenum and the EDFC, so that's awesome!

To anyone/everyone: Does the GTSpec bar also fit the plenum & EDFC? Also, on their website, I'm only seeing a bar for the 350Z, which won't fit our cars right?

Or what about the NRG one that RiversideInfiniti is selling, and the Circuit Sports bar?

the gtspec bar is scott's design.

it'll definitely fit the plenum...since it doesn't go over it.

the nrg one that riverside is selling is the same as richie's.

The circuit sports bar won't work with your EDFC motors I believe, may want to look into that more

And yes it fits with the EDFC.

The ARC is way too expensive for a piece of metal. I'd love to have their stuff, but never will.

So the NRG bar is exactly the same as Richie's V1 then? Did the V1 (and NRG, I guess) fit with EDFC motors?

There's only 1 that I know of that will work with the Stillen supercharger. Its an alternate design that Scott from Relentless made (old VRT) that accommodates the blower. None of the other strut bars will work. Not Richie, ARC, etc...

It would have to be hand made since I think only his version 1 strut bar was being mass produced by GT-Spec. More expensive, but its chromemoly and takes a little while longer. I'm assuming Scott still does the hand-made STB's for people who have particular needs or what chromemoly instead of aluminum.

But since you're going Vortech, most of them should work.

The Richie one is same as Arc, so I believe if the Arc fits EDFC so will Richie/NRG bar.

Btw, why did you switch from Stillen to Vortech?

Just to reiterate, I will be removing the Stillen kit very soon. Just had the thirst for more power! I'm looking for an FSTB that will fit in conjunction with the Vortech s/c kit, Crawford V5 plenum, and Tein EDFC motors.

Richie: Can you confirm/deny if your V1 (and I guess NRG?) bar would work, too?

Hey Triple....

I can confirm that our V1/V2 will work with your Vortech, V5 plenum, and EDFC motors.

Let me know if you guys have any other questions. I have installed a handful of these and wrote up a detailed installation pdf.....

Richie was right. I got the NRG bar (basically Richie's V2 with a little emblem) in a month ago. It fits with my Crawford V5, Vortech, and Tein EDFC motors.
