Stoptech BBK... feedback from experience please?

I was in the market for a BBK once I need new brakes. I have an 05 6MT. I was looking at the STOPTECH 14" F+R Slotted Rotors/Red Caliper Kit that comes with pads and SS lines... I was quoted a great price on this package.

Whose got these, how are they on the street? Too much stopping power for street use? I am assuming that since it is an upgrade... it will actually be safer in a sense.

My car is a daily driver and I plan on taking it to the track occasionally but not often. So mainly street use. I am REALLY into a balance of performance AND looks... functionality being most important of course.

Disco_Monkey,

I know that i my self and tinman both have this kit. I will be honest, half of myself wanted this kit because it looked beyond amazing, however you will be able to feel a huge diffrence in this kit compared to stock no matter what people say. On the freeway, it is nothing short of amazing, you can be going alot faster then the traffic infront of you and when everyone gets on there brakes all you simply need to do is touch the pedal with your toe and it squats the car and breakes so so fast.

It just gives the car a whole diffrent feeling, it makes the car feel much more of a race car feel.

Did i mention the amazing looks this kit will give your car? Pre-pair to have everyone and i mean 99% of people stop and LOOK at your brakes at every stop light and when ever somone happens to catch a glance at your brakes. Its funny cause you can see people read the brakes, and about 1 sec latter you can see that the realize the name " STOP TECH" and realize that the brakes that stop your car are called stoptech....

If you are trying to make the avrage non- forum owner, jelous... you will do a very good job with these brakes. I have had other g35 owners, drive pass me and just stop there car to take a look at the brakes.

Here are some pics, enjoy...

Disco_Monkey, i too was quoted an awesome price for stoptech's - 14" F&R. i need to go back home (out of town now, missing my car so much!) and look at how much i was quoted by zcargarage. i might get them. this is bar none the one thing i want that could make your car be on the *next* level.

WOW! They LOOK amazing!!! Tailgaters beware huh?!

I have 19" Volk SF-Challenges... +28mm front offset(9.5" wide) and +23 rear offset(10.5" wide).

Do you think I will have any clearance issues? Caliper clears everything?

DISCO,

You should be fine, Volk actully has three types of offsets (A,B, and C), so it is hard to say, but based off the size of your wheels and offsets I would say you should be fine. You can download the template from stoptech's website to check it out, it is a .pdf and is easy to use.

tinman, your name sounds familiar. are you formerly from the .org? anyway, to those who have the kit, how does the brake pedal feel? i imagine it to be a bit harder than stock, but it's not like an on off switch is it? i would still like the pedal to be soft enough to heel and toe even when i'm not 10/10 driving. being able to modulate the brakes easily is also important.
