G35 Front Strut Tower brace
#211
I had the VRT STB installed last week on my 05 5AT coupe and from a performance standpoint, you can definitely feel a difference when cornering even with my stock suspension. I actually drove down to SD to have Scott's fabricator install it. It basically took him less than 30 minutes. When I got home, I noticed on the hood where the hood and headlamp meet on the driverside was raised a little right at the lamp. So there was a clearance problem on the drivers side of the crossbar I hadn't noticed before. After loosening a few bolts and fiddling with the crossbar and mounts a little, the clearance problem was solved. I found out about the STB thru these boards. After meeting with Scott and having been pleased with the STB I wanted to pass along my good experience with him and his shop. He's got pics of the STB on my coupe after installation that he's welcome to post.

My passenger side had a minor gap before I removed the hood lining thing that says "advance midship bla bla..." Now it fits fine but I am a little concerned about the hood/paint getting messed up since it will be exposed to so much more heat.
Is that foam liner thing absolutely necessary? functional?
Damn what a difference this STB makes! The front corner that is turning in just stays down flat now instead of coming up like a speedboat! Feels like my old 350Z now! This bar is worth every penny. Install was sort of a PITA at first but WELL worth it in the end!!!

If anyone is interested in these STB's, I (with the help of severall helpfull and patiente customers ) have revised these strut tower braces. The cross bar sits a little bit lower for easier installs and more clearance, there is now a version that will fit the standard car with the stock intake box and most other aftermarket CAI, one for the JWT TT kit, the APS TT kit, the Stillen SC kit, etc. I guess you can say that they are all pretty much custom made from a jig. I am selling them as quick as they are made.
The price is $450.
You can order one here wa2good@hotmail.com , or PM me.
Thanks again,
Scott at VRT

Just installed my STB and took my car out for a spin. The car handles noticable better.
I have the APS TT installed and had some fitment issues with the drivers side brace clearing the air mass sensor, but Scott was exceptionally helpful. And although I had to send the brace back once to get it right, it fit perfectly the second time 'round.
Also, if you're gonna do it... do it all at one time. I put the drivers side brace on first and then stripped a nut on the passenger side. Ended up driving it around a bit .... and although the drivers side brace clears the air mass sensor, on hard rights the car would flex. I ended up cracking off some of my air mass sensor clip.
