That was a mistake on my part. What I really meant was "Those filthy dirty rotten Bast@rds" He he he
I have decided to go ahead and get the Lateral brace as well, and install it myself or have someone besides "Those ... ... ........" install it for me.
Cato, does the front and rear have the issue with the alignment bolts needing a mark to go back to spec?
I want to point out that the coupe midpipe and the stock middy on a SEDAN are shaped the same way exactly so there should be no issues with us coupe midpipe carriers.
As far as rigidity, it's one of my biggest dissapointmentsin the G. Look, the car is wonderful really, - but after driving a 2001.5 VW Passat - which is the old standard in my opinion for this class of car in terms of tortional rigidity - was simply 100% better than the G. Now we own a (crashed) Touareg and it's even more noticable how relatively sloppy the G is, unfair comparisons notwithstanding. If you've driven the M, which is the same architecture as our G, you know where this thing could be rigidity wise. They market some 4 digit percentage improvement over the G in fact. That thing is a rock and the 07 should be MUCH improved. I think Nissan relies on the firm setup of the springs and shocks to give us that firm feel.
The constant early G reviews of the back end getting unsettled in turns over uneven pavement bears all this out. The rear sway and, prosectively, these bars will do nothing but VASTLY improve this car's dynamics in ways that are tanginble and intangible. The sways alone are terrific at keeping the rear planted better in hard corners. I expect 3 series handling now baby....can you tell i'm excited???
More email from Ken at GTSpec:
David,
The lateral arm brace will fit if u have stock exhaust. That’s what it was test fitted on, there was a ¾ inch of space between the piping and brace on the test fit.

"Application: G35 Coupe. Will not clear stock exhaust systems. This will only fit on cars with dual pipe exhaust systems installed!"
This is contrary to what Ken told me yesterday via email...
I am waiting on a response from Ken......................................

I got email back from Ken, he says that it won't fit the coupe, but will fit the sedan. I don't know what that means for those of use with the coupe mid-pipe on our sedans?
David,
That piece of information is correct. The lateral brace did not fit the stock exhaust on the G35 coupe. This we confirm on the test fit, it was rubbing or touching the exhaust piping. However, it did fit the G35 sedan and this was confirm from the test fit as well. The only reason I can think of is probably that the coupe piping sits a little lower than the sedan.

Ken,
I am ready to purchase the lateral arm brace.
The following is a quote about the part on partshippers.com:
“Application: G35 Coupe. Will not clear stock exhaust systems. This will only fit on cars with dual
pipe exhaust systems installed!”
I am assuming this is incorrect and that it will fit my G35 Sedan?
Regards,
Dave

Well I guess if the lower lateral brace doesn't fit my sedan with a coupe middy, I'll just have to drill holes and put the 4 point chassis brace in. I am not giving up my coupe like sound and adding 30 pounds to my car. I'll be fine with the sway and the lower bar.

Now I see why Ken said it does not fit the coupe. It still remains to be see if it fits the sedan with the coupe mid-pipe. SixFive will let us know when he installs his!

email from GTSPEC:
Dave,
I cover the shipping both way if it does not fit. MSRP for the 4 points chassis brace is $299, 50% off MSRP if it does fit.
Procedure:
1) I get your information and your credit card than ship it to you
2) You test fit and take pictures
3) If it don’t fit I send you a UPS Call Tag to pick it up and give you a refund on your card when I get the part back from UPS
4) If it fit then after the pictures I need I will refund you 50% of the MSRP back to your card.
Let me know.

I get it 1/2 price if it fits. What do you think?
