Ok folks I have an update on my issue. I brought my car back to where I bough my car in to the Willowdale dealer and the sevice advisor said it is covered under warranty. He took down my info and created a work order for me and will contact me when the part comes in. I was there for less then 10 mins. He also mentioned to me that this is very common and they have replaced a lot under warranty. So whoever has the same issue as me just bring it in.

I'm glad my dealer is willing to replace it under warranty.

I've had both sides of that same molding replaced under warranty also.
I think it was just poorly made and poorly designed piece... oh well.. atleast it was free

Hope this helps

I think dealers have problems when they process too many claims of a certain type.
Also, they make more selling it to the client than they get back from Infiniti;
If they can get away with it.

Persistance usually pays off for this type of issue.

I got the rubber molding replaced today. They told me that they are not going to spray or put my car through the car wash because it is way below -13 today. Service Advisor mentioned to me if it is below -10 dont wash our cars as the windows can shatter and door locks can get frozen.

Sorry I meant to say the dealer was not going to spray=clean my car today. They said that the windows can shatter when you open or close the doors if they are frozen. I guess they think it will happen as our doors have no window frames.

I just had this problem, its from putting your hand/ or foot on it when you are getting out of the car. slowly tears it off. Double sided tape will keep it down...

I just noticed this problem today too.
I was cleaning the bottom of the door from the inside with a microfiber cloth, and I think I applied too much pressure (although it wasn't very much pressure at all) as I ran the cloth across the bottom edge of the door. I then checked the other door and noticed I had the same problem there too. The rubber/plastic is pretty brittle and frail, and it wasn't frigid outside when it happened.

here's a pic. I am going to seek replacement parts under warranty. Thanks for the info guys - when I saw the problem on my car I just KNEW someone else had probably posted about the issue too. I love G35 Driver!
