The Nissan/Infiniti 3.0/3.5 VQ-series has only been one of Ward's "Best 10 Engines" title since it's introduction in 1995. Yes, it's won the title 10 times now. http://www.autoweb.com.au/cms/A_100391/newsarticle.html How many times must I own you before you stop posting?I'm starting to think you're just a G35 owner playing tricks on us because you're such an idiot......a funny idiot actually.

I'm talking about an Engine that's won International Awards, not wimpy magazine awards. Let's be real now. Oh and it didn't say it won 10 times, it says its been on the list 10 Times. By That's the Company's Magazine that thinks its a good engine. Remember I'm talking about International (Meaning The World)!!!

My old Maxima made 180wtq at 2000rpms
RX-8s are getting a whopping 200whp with pullies, intake, and catback. Ouch. As for the VQ, being named to Ward's Top Ten List and the world's best V6 is quite an accomplishment. You need to go back and read the link because Ward's is not some magazine or Nissan affiliate.

Second thing is that its pretty said that if we were so called getting only 170whp and 120wtq and still keep up with a 3.5L V6 w/ 280HP and 270 Torque. That's looks to me that its more SAD on your part if that's true. Now if you want to talk about achievements then we will, but you will get blown out of the water. The RX8 has 3 times the awards the G35 does and has placed 1st over the G35 coupe and others many of times!

You may need a little HP, Torque lesson ---->http://www.yawpower.com/tqvshp.html (He'll break it down for you people who think just because you have big HP and Big Toque, that you can out perform everyone. Doesn't mean as much as you think when it comes to performance!)
Link of one of our members who running a bone stock RX8 on the track. He'll pass a Mustang GT, NSX and almost passed a Brand New Corvette C6. http://www.geralds.net/HPDE031905/HPDE1031905.wmv
Try letting your stock G35 do this and I bet that engine will blow http://www.d-mphotos.com/images/rx8/.../rx8184mph.wmv
This is the guys same exact car as above http://www.hausers.com/nemesis8/videos/teaser.wmv
You guys need to remember that the RX8 was designed by someone that actually raced professionally.

So all of a sudden the Rx-8 can hang? Dream on cameltoe. It's still a 15 second car if thrashed and there is no way any rx can hang with a c6. Stop whining about the awards. How about Car of the Year - I don't think you got that one. The Autoweek long term test summed it up best when they said they were concerned about the 13 mpg until they started burning more oil than fuel. Get your 15 second car and all the rotatary hype out of dodge. People here expect performance and world class looks from a solid luxury platform - not crap and poor reliability and **** @ss performance. Rx-8's are sooo easy - why do you even bother. The three guys I know that own them respect the G for what it is - faster than thier car and they know it. Maybe you need to be schooled in the way of the VQ...matter of time before you get your rotary @ss handed to you.

I wathced the RX get spanked once already on best motoring. No rx-8 can hang with a vette unless modded so why should I watch a turbo RX that can't be bought for under 40k beat some car with a driver I don't know from a grandma. Dude I thought you weren't coming back. But if you insist - why don't you just go to the track take a video of your 1/4 mile times and then we can just all laugh at what a big headed dreamer you are...Even if it was a 13 second car it's a reliability nightmare that I would say big NO to...and it doesn't take a genius to figure out how to stay in the higher rpm's einstien. I was driving a stick while you squirting out of yer daddy beeactch.
Now.. I don't post on G35driver alot. I've been lurking for a while.. But your posts are really bothering me.
Awards aside, from first hand experience- The RX8 is a different type of car. My brother has had 2 of them. His current one is pretty modded (mainly looks) but has the basic bolt ons and some other small engine stuff. When I had my RSX-S. I had a decent amount of things done to it.. My RSX ran 14.1-14.3 average.
We made a few runs, both track + some highway driving. There is no way the RX8 would keep up. I've driven that car quite a bit also... There's no torque.. however the redline does look sweet... Aftermarket wise, the market is still growing. But the mods you get these days for that area barely make a difference worth the $.
My Gc 6mt.. stock a week old, ran a 14.1 at the track (with 600 miles on the car). You're coming on here posting your rotary pride **** on the boards like a Honda Fanboy screaming Vtec... What's the deal?
My bro's RX8 has been nothing but problems. Brakes make noises (I think there's a TSB for that).. the hassle of flooding the engine, gas problem, and all the babying of that tranny.
I don't know about the G's reliability first hand though. I've had the car since October, and I only have 2300 miles. Don't drive it very often.
I'm not saying I hate the car though. It holds itself well around corners and it has some nice features (rev and radio balancing).. But I'd take the RX7 over the 8 anyday.
You can post all the "paper racing" you want. You're on a G35 Forum, not a RX8 forum. I'd much rather see your time slips at the track, not some "professional driver that can work the gears".. I don't expect a Mustang GT to be taking corners as well as the RX8. And from the looks of that video, none of those guys are pushing any of those cars to their fullest potential. I don't count someone getting coached at a driving school with other cars a "professional race" either..
But yea... enjoy your rx8, my brother still does (even with his problems) it's a fun car.
Hopefully I'll get to run it at the track this season and see what times I get to pull up with.
Ok back to lurking

If you haven't noticed it takes a little more skill to drive a Rotary Powered Car. As for Autoweek, they must be people like you. I have the freaking car and know that the gas and oil are no where near what they said. I check my oil maybe once a month and maybe have to add 1/4 of a quart. I bet you those three buddies of your cant drive either.(Any of them have Auto because that's doesn't count) Its easy for someone to race around a track with mad Torque and HP but it takes skill to switch back and forth through gears. The video is posted above, shows him passing a Mustang GT and NSX. Then actually keeping up with a New Corvette C6(Took his word for it and by the way he drives I believe it). Watch the freaking video before you open your mouth.

Don't think for a second I didn't know I was going to be flamed when I got on here because I did know. I expected it, just as if one of you went over to the 8 Forums, you would get flamed hard too. But you all have to be smoking on something if you don't think a Manual RX8 cant keep up or beat a G35 on the track.
As far as problems. I'm yet to have one with my car. You guys hear one or two story's and turn them into something they shouldn't be. I guess I'll go look further into these forums and then start bashing the Trans and Engine of the G35 because I've seen a couple bad things about it. You guys view that the same way you view the guys that can't drive a Rotary Powered car! Ignorantly
It all goes back to the Top Gear Track when the RX8 got the same time as the 350Z and the M3. People couldn't believe it................ but they have 1 driver doing all the cars around the 1 track. The guys been driving for years and knows what he's doing. So, don't sit here and tell me this car cant hang because it can and does! Time after time it has been proven!

I'm going to go double digits with my post count w00t.

I dunno if you know how to drive a car hard.. correctly..
You seem to be bragging about this redline alot. That's an RX8 Dyno from KTR. Power Band doesn't seem to keep up much of the power. Yes there's a 9k Redline.. but does that mean you should Shift at 9k?
"hearing them hit redline" doesn't make sense unless they have a shift light of some sort... Unless you're going by the rev limiter, which will actually result in you losing power. You want to shift BEFORE your redline, this way by the way you switch gears, you'll be at redline... there are some instances where you might have to stay at redline to compensate for a turn etc...?

This goes the same way, I don't run around calling my G35 a Skyline...
To be honest, I don't really like how my G35 handles on turns. I'm not saying it's better at carving corners in a RX8... it's not the best car in that part of the department. (which probably can be tweaked with mods)
Like you said, you're in a G35 forum (why are you here anyways?). If you go over to the Civic forums or tC forums, you'll have stories about stomping Cobra's, Vettes, the works..

Don't take this the wrong way, but you can't really use the "pride and respect" of the RX7's history in your RX8 Rotary. It's a different car, fit for different means. The RX8 was made to be a casual enconomical sports car, it's not anything close to what the RX7 was.
