Why would CamelToe lie? He's such an honorable guy.

Here are the guys exact words from the forum!
"I was on vacation this past weekend, I drove from NJ to Florida (in 14hours) and then from FL to St. Louis Missouri. The car held up great, as for me my *** is sore like you wouldn't believe. I stayed with Ryan Scott (your webmaster) in St.Loui and we covered the NHRA Summit at Gateway for Rxtuner.
I'm a drag rookie, never done it before but figured what the hell i might as well, i put having to drive the car home 900miles and 13hours the next morning on the backburner. I lowered the tire pressure as per ITO's guidance over the phone to 19psi and went out for my first run HORRRRRRRIBLE wheel hop I had to shift into 2nd before it would stop. This was Launching at 7.5krpm WITH feathering. The track just had too much traction on top of that sticky **** they spray on for the Pro Guys. I ended up doing 2 more runs with the 19psi and launching lower and the best time i could squeak out was a 14.9. Felt really bad about this because a 350Z ran a 14.1/14.2 in the lane next to me twice and he wasn't around for my 2 runs on Sunday (here it comes)
So going against experience i decided to raise my tire pressure up to stock recommendation my thinking being that was what the stock suspension is set up for, hence less chance for wheel hop.
FYI i did short burnouts on water before the run. 93 Octane, Half a tank of gas and, 50lbs extra worth of traveling **** i had in the car.
BAM first run 14.703@93.90mph felt really good about that because a G35 ran a 14.8 right before me had the most pissed off look on his face
So im feeling lucky i know the car has more in it i can feel it. BAM second run 8000k feather then drop spin the tires a little bit more then the last run and go. Had a higher 60ft on this run by only .015 of a second but the extra time i took to keep the engine in the higher part of the powerband catapulted me to a 14.58@94.55mph.
Now if i didn't have to drive this car 900miles the next day i would have tried again, but after that run i got a nice whiff of clutch and decided to call it a day and be happy with 14.5 but not to talk smack or anything like the but i think i could have ran 14.3-14.4 based on ever single one of my passes going down in ET. On top that of my shift to 4th could have been better.
As well as the Track temp being approx 90deg F the extra crap in my car and the extra gas i had in the tank.
Hope this shuts most of you up about how only guy that can run this car to 14.5-3 is ITO because he runs "race gas" and "powershifts" and "is a pro drag racer."
The Timeslip and picture of it on my car:
Btw i also got 27mpg on the trip home"

Talking about Engine specs and power.. real numbers is one thing..
this is getting out of hand with "oh well this guy did so and so"..
Can we stop this?... If you didn't run the time, please don't go further into OT land.. this applies to everyone..
Talking about other people's track times.. it's kind of like fat people- drinking beer watching football... They don't do jack sh#t
time slips or lock the thread, it's gone too far.

man,
i came to read this thread to get an idea of mods people have to get specific 1/4 mile times....didnt know it turned into an rx8 vs g35 battle!
guys i have yet to go to the track but in our region in our meets the guys go about once a month if not more often. I want to get in the 13s w/ my G (even a 13.9 will do
). As I said, I have not yet ran anywhere, and although I have a G Tech, I have not been able to go a 1/4 mile for it to give me an estimate (and even if I had, the estimate should be taken w/ a grain of salt!). But I want to know besides the mods which I currently have, what else can/should I do to get in the 13s (without going FI)??
My list of mods: Ztube/popcharger, grounding kit (
), Motordyne 3/8 plenum spacer, Pro-1 Y pipe.
Upcoming mods - UR crank pulley, hi flo cats/resonated test pipes, greddy sp2
I am curious what you guys guestimate I will get at w/ these mods and whether w/ the 'upcoming mods' whether I should be able to break into the 13s....and guys this is everything being held constant (ie weather, driver). I am just mentioning that b/c I know someone will say 'depends on weather, track, altitude, driver' so i'll save you the trouble!! The track I would probably run at would be MIR - in Maryland....
BTW I have an 04.5 5at G35c

When you go, make sure to run with a 1/4 tank of fuel and remove all loose articles from the car like tools, subs, spare, etc. There's no need to haul all that gear down the track when you're trying to see what your car is capable of.
To go 13s, it will probably take drag tires and light rims. 60 foot means everything.

Passing a V8 mustang on the straight.
Over taking a corvette.
I think I might **** myself right now just thinking about it. TOO FUNNY! The best part was when the guy(beginner) almost crashing into another car after a red flag and the passenger saying "I think they're going to say something to you about that, yeah they probably will".

Now i'm going to have to watch it. I had no doubts there was no way an RX was beating a vette or an NSX. THe NSX handles like a ferrari

so to get back on topic...best run for me at crappy LACR was a 14.887 uncorrected. corrected, it comes out at 14.4 something i believe. I ran this with only a popcharger and z-tube and the traction out there was HORRIBLE. Best 60' time I could get was 2.3xx. Oh and this was during the summer time I believe...do you happen to remember when it was exactly Randy? I think it was the first time I met you and you kept on asking me how I got into the 14.8's cause everyone else that night was running higher or something. Ah well...I got a couple of mods now(UR crank pulley, Test Pipes) so I'm wonder how i'd do. The weather is cooler now and hopefully the traction will be somewhat better(LACR...I doubt it but maybe). Planning to go again within the month and I'll post times. I'm hoping to run at least a 14.6 but we shall see.(14.6 uncorrected so about a 14.2 or lower corrected) I'm thinking of going to fontana or something where the traction's a little bit better.

Not that I've read, but I did get the new Motor Trend today and the G35 298hp 6 speed sedan did a 14.1@99mph. In 03 they got a 14.3@100mph out of the 03 6 speed. Both cars achieved 5.8 0-60s. I do find it interesting that the "260hp" 03 actually went faster threw the 1/4 mile suggesting that it's actually making more power than the 298hp motor. I still think it's a wash between the 03/04 and 05, though.
