Either way, I agree that there are gains, and I think it is worth it.
i doubt it, it's not just weight, the decreased mass also plays a big roll

Umm, weight is mass (at least in equal gravity)

Perhaps you are trying to say the decreased rotational inertia due to the driveshaft being slight skinner (more compact) due to lacking the center joint?

Mass is a measurement of the amount of matter something contains, while Weight is the measurement of the pull of gravity on an object.

Yeah, I know, but on earth, 1 kg of mass is 1 kg of weight. They are equivalent.

Like I said, mine is not anywhere near yours, or his. Still does okay, though.

Got mine in. Started at 630 after work then finished at 8. Not bad for being on my back. Note: the bolts connecting my diff to the shaft **heh heh** were 17mm. I did a quick spin around the block. My initial impression is that there are less vibrations coming through the shifter. I will stretch her legs tomorrow on the way to work and see how she feels.
nice solid one piece

Notice the blue Z1 sticker. It may be so they can tell the difference between manual and auto.

I still can't believe it took this long for the one piece to come out for the g35......I mean a couple few had custom ones made back then. I am glad to see the community staying strong...if not getting stronger.

I have yet to set a date with my mechanic for the driveshaft....I would do it myself but I'm also getting gears and LSD installed at the same time

I haven't got on it yet, but it does feel smoother. I will post pics of both shafts side by side later. The Z1 DS comes with a pink Z1 logo on it.
where is it listed Derek? I went to the site before coming in here to leave Adam a msg asking where it is... I looked under driveline, didnt see it - where else could it be?

I think most people viewed the G35 as a luxury car first and sports car second. I've had mine since new in '05 and have been modding since. But most people go as far as cosmetics then stop. Performance for the G has taken a backseat for the first years compared to the Z, but now they are cheaper and easier to get so more people are getting on the performance bandwagon. I guess better late than never. I plan on keeping my car until she dies.

Mine didn't have weights on it. I guess I lucked out when they balanced it.

Very bottom of the last pic looks to have a weight tack welded on. Completely normal for a driveshaft to have to be balanced.

Yeah, mine has some weights tack welded on it. That's normal. Just like wheels have weights on them to help balance, so do driveshafts. Manufacturing processes are not perfect, and thus, balancing is needed.
