i have this same problem but ive noticed it seems to be rpm related and just downshifting without releasing the clutch will produce a higher pitched noise. so possibly something to do with the tranny/syncros?

Have the same noise here too. It doesn't bug me too much because it goes away. I just turn on the heated seats and rock out to some tunes or sports radio and enjoy the ride on the way to work.

I heard this noise today. Last I drove the car was on Friday and the temp did get a little cold for florida.

The noise went away after 5 minutes of driving.
