Sure, put that engine in a car weighing as much as a supra and see what happens

IMHO, give that high hp supra a solid rear end and an auto tranny, and I'll show you a Supra that will brake boost and shot out of the hole pretty well.

Problem is, most supra guys are manual drivers and most don't want to go backwards in tech to go drag racing.
Soo....this can be said for anything. 03/04 cobras will be faster at a strip with a SRA and an auto tranny than stock, but this is all just what-if's anyways.

ps- boostedjustin- 800hp stock bottom end supras can go for a surprisingly long time before detonation, only problem is that the boost is only getting applied above 6000 rpms, lol.

Vettes have a pretty good weight advantage vs a Supra I believe.

Yes it can be said. Mostly because it's a true statement.

If that were the case, you would see alot more solid rear axle conversions. Many guys do use their Supras on the 1/4 strip but it's more for kicks than any serious effort. IMHO

[QUOTE=b00stedjustin, and they do tend to be solely used as 1/4 queens to probably most of our disapointment.[/QUOTE]

i agree with most you here, VQ35 is really not that weak, if you want exotic why don't you game up a 1000hp VQ, bump eh

i like american cars, but i'll take a Japanese made engine over an american one any day.... my brother bought a 2000 Z28 as his first car... man what a POS... and IMO only the new Vettes are worth taking about, and even then the LS2 or LS7 platform havnt really been tired and tested for that long...

and another thing u need to look at... the damn size of american engines... the new Z06 is over 7 litres... i believe the Viper is an 8.3.. i'd personally take a 500hp+ TT VQ still getting 17mpg over a 500hp 8.3 getting 7mpg.

Personally i think there are huge differences between American and Japanese engines.. and you cant really compare the two... it all comes down to ur preference and what ur going to be using the car for... IMO 1/4 times dont define an Import... Imports are much more then just for straight aways...

I'd personally take a 500hp NA LS7 motor, with it's light weight, compact size, ease of modification plus simplicity vs a TT V6 based on a engine with known oil consumption problems.

The na motor will feature less operating heat, better gas mileage and way more torque under the curve.

The new vettes get nearly 30mpg on the highway, and the zo6 gets 27 on the highway.

Also, there are a lot of VQ powered g35's around here getting 13mpg with bolt ons, just go look at the mpg thread.

also, vettes will tear up a lot of imports on racing tracks that are not in a straight line too.

Reliability wise I understand your argument, but besides that there were a lot of flaws in what you said.

Screw that, I want all of them. I'll take a Vette (I wouldn't waste money on a Z06 when I can mod the hell out of a base C6 for less $) and a GT-R. Argue with that logic!

Hmm an LS7 swap to a G35 would be VERY interesting, almost as cool as an LS_ RX7
