I spent a lot of time behind engine dyno's, Not chassis dynos. I have driven some of the quickest cars in there class, and have also been able to attend the awards banquet for NHRA IN 1987,1988,1989
Do a search for C' mod production ----Clue! Small block chevy's
In each and every class All cars ET the best at about 200rpms in every gear above redline.
Understanding that 9800rpm shift points are not what the VQ is all about. The engine is the tuning device on what it delivers. From that point on you can change gears, clutch, and so on.
In no way do you make your car quicker by pushing the engine past its "dynodes" power point. Its rubber to the road and set up. Again---- Drag racing is an art. Paint your own picture. 7300 RPM'S-=-= YOUR NUT'S

That's WAY more than the 30 second rule!!!

What's most upsetting about all this is that an EDITIOR of a car magazine doesn't understand the very thing he reasearches and writes about. That's very damaging because so many people will read his articles and accept them as gospel because he's an "expert". Thank God he doesn't write for Grassroots.

First off you are way out of line with that statement. I personally Know DaveO and this I will tell you, If you knew what you were talking about he would be the first person that would listen to you.. 30 SECOND RULE HAS BEEN APPLIED.
There is an old saying that says? When arguing with an idiot" do not do the same.
DaveB, Have a nice life.

I really don't care if I'm out of line because I offended your friend. Someone has to say something. There is way too much cronyism in this group.

And with having said that, Sir . . . You have lost any and all credibility. When one reverts to school yard tactics, for a lack of a better term . . . It can also be surmised that the said person will say anything to prove his/her point(s) . . . Whether the point(s) are founded or not.

I trust this evening finds you well.

I agree, anyone who does that especially to DaveO which is highly thought of on this forum should have his head cut off! But he did it to himself.

Alright for god's sake this has gone on long enough! That was WAY OUT OF LINE and while I will give you all of your do in regards to drag racing it appears that you are not the only one who deserves some credit there. Having said that - there are quite a few people on here who know about these cars. I have talked _extensively_ with DaveO about cars in general and believe me when I say that you have jumped over the line here.

Frankly, can you all just give it a rest. Or if not, go over to off topic and have a good little flame fest to get it out of your system and leave the rest of us out of it!
