In case anyone wants the flip-flop stats for today.... I am 60/40 for doing it.
Here is my situation. My roomate told me this weekend that he took a job in Tally and is moving out next month. Thats $500 a month out the window. But...besides being an attorney, I am also a developer. Our piece of land goes for rezoning this month. I just found out today that if we get what we want...we have a buyer lined up and I will make a killing. Most of that will be rolled over into another development...but I can take a few G's out to satisfy these mods.
To throw in another monkey wrench...because of my good fortune...my father actually suggested that instead of spending 7K on performance mods...I should save the 7K and buy a used Cabriolet. Interesting huh?
But...I love my G and have leaned to going FI. I am scared that Infiniti will go to a G45 for the redesign year and would love to FI the 4.5 and not the 3.5 engine. The anxiety and questions in my head never stooooooooooooooooooooooooop!!

What oil cooler are you running Randy? Did you have a problem with the install?

EXTREMELY STUPID! Look at the model year 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse and compare it to the less than drastic changes for model year 2006.
Technical Specs of the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT:
In 6 years the car gained ~300 pounds, gained a 0.8 liter larger engine and 63bhp to climb to the 1/4 mile in a whoppin' 0.4 seconds faster. The car is FWD and it is STILL SLOWER than your old maxima.
...and just because you can't argue with dabomb any more, don't think I'm all of a sudden his replacement.
Technical Specs of the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT:
Front Wheel Drive
engine: 3.0L V6
power: 200 HP @ 5,500 rpm; 200 ft lb @ 4500 rpm
1/4 mile: 15.3 sec @ 91.3mph
weight: 3210 lbs
Technical Specs of the 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT:engine: 3.0L V6

1/4 mile: 15.3 sec @ 91.3mph
weight: 3210 lbs
Front Wheel Drive
engine: 3.8L V6
power: 263 HP @ 5,750 rpm; 260 ft lb @ 4,500 rpm
1/4 mile: 14.93 sec @ 97.46 mph
weight: 3500 lbs
Compare those differences and tell me that you really think Mitsubishi can/will make a 13.0 second Eclipse from the factory. Sorry, but I'm not buyin' it!engine: 3.8L V6

I'm laying off the Eclipse, it wasn't to be taken literally, but a bad example regardless But my Maxima is a prime example of the average V6 5 years ago
222hp
7.2s 0-60 (a whopping 6.8 for the 5MT)
I pulled off a 15.8 in the 1/4.. (5mt can do mid 15's)
Hurting isn't it
Even when the G came out, how many cars had 280hp in 02 and how many do now? Times change and cars get faster, which was my whole point. And trust me you can try but dabomb was far beyond comparison
So how's the flip flopping going Jason

Okay...I must jump in....I can bash your analogy my firend...
Technical Specs of the 2000 Dodge Neon:
Front Wheel Drive
engine: 2.0L I4
power: 132 HP @ 5,600 rpm; 130 ft lb @ 4600 rpm
1/4 mile: 17.5 sec @ 81.5
weight: 2559 lbs
Technical Specs of the 2004 Dodge Neon SRT:
Front Wheel Drive
engine: Turbocharged 2.4L I4
power: 230 HP @ 5,300 rpm; 250 ft lb @ 2,200 rpm
1/4 mile: 13.9 sec @ 103 mph
weight: 2984 lbs
Okay...in only 4 years ('00 --> '04)...Dodge went from having a crap Neon to a much faster crap Neon. Thats a 75% increase in HP. A 93% increase in Torque. Gained 425 lbs and cut 3.6 seconds (21% improvment) off the 1/4 mile time.
Using this figure and assuming Dodge maintins this rapid performace pace..in the year 2008 or 2009, Dodge can unveil the following:
Technical Specs of the 2008.5 Dodge Neon SRT:
Front Wheel Drive
engine: Turbocharged 3.0L V6
power: 402 HP @ 5,300 rpm; 482 ft lb @ 2,200 rpm
1/4 mile: 10.98 sec @ 125 mph
weight: 2900 lbs
And dont give me the Neon to SRT answer. Its still a Neon in the Dodge lineup.
Beat that Neffy
