These kits are not that bad, I don't understand why people think you are only getting 30 hp for the money. The fact is you are gaining almost 95 to the wheels which would put you easily in the 12's. Stillen says they dynoed the cars and revealed 400-410 flywheel which is around 320 rearwheel not bad in my estimation. Halfass872., you should definitely dyno the car to see your a/f alone and boost level. Go to a mustang dyno or dynodynamics. You might be impressed.

95 to the wheel? - Are you running Stg4? Can't recall since we have more and more guys joining this discussion. I'm running Stg2 and only hit about 48 or so to the wheels...

Anyways - had knee surgery and my poor baby has been sitting for 2 1/2 weeks now. I need to pull her out of the garage and fire her up for a bit. I can't drive as of yet - and not sure how much longer I'll have to wait. = (

So glad to see more Stillen owners chimming in!!!!

Thanks Guys!

Since there are not too many 350z owners who enjoy the Stillen Kit, I figured I would come over and join you all. I have a 2004 350z track model with stillen stage 3 kit, fuel pump, smaller pully on the blower itself, stllen catback exhaust and stillen cold air. Just visited the dyno-dynamics the other day and the techs there were impressed. The results were around 320 horsepower and 279 torque. This dyno is a heartbreaker, they say but my heart was not broken that afternoon. People complain about our cars falling on there face over 5k rpm, but mine revs to readline. I will try and post the dyno. Be sure to check your belt tension on both lower and upper belts forthe supercharger as I found out it makes a big difference. Check your plugs and make sure they are around 1.1mm gap.
Ok - now I see you are Stg3 - but I thought that Stg3 was worthless (only leans you out). How is it that you are putting down these numbers? I have the Stillen Intake, Catback exhaust, as well and am running Stg2 at a peak 269HP. I'm confused...

Thanks Guys!

They must of had it in shoot out mode on the DD as that stage would never see that kind of power. The DD shoot out mode reads quite a bit higher then when its set for tuning a car.

You can't ever compare one dyno to another. The only right way to do it is get a baseline and do all future tuning on the same dyno.

^ Absolutely agree. It's like weighing yourself on a different scale each week - it just doesn't reflect correctly how much weight you've lost. You can get on a scale that is off by 100lbs, but as long as you keep weighing yourself on that incorrect scale - you'll still get an accurate measurement of weight loss.

Thanks Guys!

Talking of the Stg4 kit - I have some questions for those who have this kit and others that just know a lot about the Stillen SC all together.

1.) If I move from Stg2 to Stg4 - how much harder is the kit going to push the engine? I like the Stg2 b/c I've heard that it's easy (relatively comparing to other FI kits of course) on the engine. If I go to Stg4, will I be 'pushing my luck' on weither the engine will blow up one day or not start up one day at all?

2.) What numbers (not that it really matters) would I be putting down? In the 300's wheel horses?

3.) How much difference can you actually FEEL going from Stg2 to Stg4 - anyone that has done this please chime on in!!!

*Thinking* of doing this maybe this coming Fall or Winter...

Thanks Guys!

You can def feel a diference between the stage2 and 4 and i would def recommend it.You should put down low 300's and the same with rwt.

I have had both.

1) It's about 2-2.5psi more but is much safer than the stage 3 as the stage 3 can go lean. Any boost will wear your motor out faster but 8psi is a very safe number for the VQ.

2) Yes, I put down ~330-340whp with the stage 4.

3) You can feel it for sure. How much? That's very subjective.

^ Awesome info ttrank! Thanks!

320-340whp or so - would be fantastic!

I'm sure going from 269 to anywhere in the low 300's should be a nice little kick in the pants, like going from stock to my Stg2!

I'll see about getting this done later this year -will be killer!

Thanks Guys!

+1

I went the expensive route. Meaning i started out with stage 1, and stepped through every step. Stage 4 is hands down the most increase i felt from one stage to another. In addition it seems to have the best A/F curve, and run the most efficient of all. IMO this setup doesn't really become "fun" unless you are at stage 4.

For those reading this, that don't have a Stillen SC. I will be selling my entire Stage 4 setup in the next month or so. (Returning to stock and selling the car) Price is TBD, but it only has 17,000 miles on it, and will be considerably cheaper then buying new from Stillen. And yes, thsi will work on a G/Z/FX, as long as it's a non-revup motor.
