All Stillen Supercharger Owners Report Here
Sorry - off subject some about the issues poor VENOM was having (so sorry bro!),...
I took off my front bumper yesterday to change some light bulbs (rolling eyes) - just the easiest way for me - not too bad actually. 15 mins to get off 20-30 to get back on.
ANYWAYS.....soooo...for anyone running the Stillen SC Stage II and above (intercooler), and are running the OEM front bumper - here's a bit of information that might help (a tiny, tiny bit). When Forged Performance installed my SC kit, they left the BLACK foam bumper "filler" as it was exactly from the Factory - OEM. The issue with that is - the foam filler has two LARGE portions of it going down from the center (think of it as a stretched out "TT" that's been squashed down almost flat) - the two portions of the foam (VERTICAL) were sitting right in front and BLOCKING the intercooler - ROFL, LMAO.....COME ON Forged Performance!! (Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Forged and Sharif is the coolest dude in the world and I actually need to take the coupe to them for some regular maintence soon - so I'm not totally diss'ing them or anything) - but for anyone running the same setup as me - do what I did.....
Which was...to take off the BLACK FOAM Bumper filler (it's molded on and comes right off - no glue or anything keeping it on) and CUT OFF the darn lower parts that are blocking the SC.
It's just as much MY fault (I guess) as it is Forged - b/c I've had this kit installed and running for four years and NEVER noticed this - I have no idea how I missed it - b/c this isn't the first time I've taken the front bumper off to mess around with the car (bulb replacement, etc).
I'm hoping that with some of the FOAM Bumper off and out of the way - and with cooler weather creeping upon us - the coupe will have just a fraction of a bit more power - LOL.
Thanks Guys!

VENOM,
Did you watch your mechanic to see how he replaced the oil in the Blower? I'm curious how hard this is to do - for a DIY?
Please let me know any details you might have on this - STILLEN states the blowers are maintenance free for 100,000 miles - but curious if changing the oil after about 48,000 miles (me) might be worth it - to help maintain the life of the blower?

FYI, it is a heat exchanger, not an intercooler.
The intercooler is under the blower, the front heat exchanger is basically a radiator used to cool off the fluid for the intercooler.

I dont have specific details on HOW to do it, because i wasnt the onewho did it. But since i have the kit off now, i will ask my friend to walk me through it.
OK fellas, I've done my homework and am here to help my fellow STILLEN SC owners. You know, even though this kit doesn't make big "NUMBERS", - I swear I went ***** to the walls the other day in my coupe and this sucker has soooo much Torque it's crazy. Anyways...if you want to change the OIL in the SC unit, here you go:
***First and foremost, it looks like we are all running the Magnusson Products 62 model supercharger. I had always understood that our Stillen SC was an EATON? Hmmm? Look up: "MP62 Supercharger" on google.****
OIL CHANGE (Seems that stillen states every 100,000 miles, but I'm thinking that's the bearing packing they are referring too? - it can NOT be the oil, b/c EVERYONE says that when they went to change their oil in the MP62 it was almost bone DRY!, and only after like 20k miles or so. I think I'm going to change mine every 15k from now on!
If you do want to change the oil there is one fill/drain plug on the front face of the front cover. Look for an ORANGE painted DOT! It will probably be an Allen type plug.
You will have to suction out the oil using a syringe or other method before replacing with new oil. ***I would HIGHLY suggest going out and buying a brand new SPRAY BOTTLE. You can un-screw the top and use the plastic tube to put into the drain hole and 'pump spray' the oil into the empty bottle. I suggest new and not using a bottle from bleach bottle or insect spray bottle, b/c ANY FOREIGN chemicals like that **** can break down the oil you are about to put into your SC and cause catastrophic failure!!****
You can get the new oil from any GM or Ford service parts facility, (2) 4oz bottles. 8oz is a FULL blower, but you might not need all 8oz - unless your blower is bone DRY. I'm going to check mine soon!!
Please make sure you do NOT use any other type of oil, including synthetic motor oils. These will cause failure.
Thanks Guys!

P.s. I'll post pictures as soon as I can - going on Vacation all next week - so it will have to be sometime in October guys - stay tuned.

First off - GREAT FIND on that bit of info about the manufacturer of our blowers. Seriously!
I could see this info coming in VERY useful down the line for me and others. So, big time thank yous are in order for that man!
Next, is the blower oil formulated for the Magnusson Products 62 model supercharger it's self? Why not use some standard off the counter (and why not Synthetic specifically I wonder?) What I mean is, when going into a GM service center what specifically are we asking for? I could just walk in and say 'hey I'd like 8 Oz of oil for my MP62 blower' and hope they sort it out.... but if possible I'd like to know exactly what I'm asking for when I walk in, and so do the counter clerks too - which I think we know all too well lol!

I wish we had a kit available for guys (maybe me) that will eventually re-build the VQ with better quality parts that can easily with stand more boost - and go with the larger 6th GEN Supercharger this guys is showing in his LOTUS video.
I hear all about Twin Turbo setups and I'm sure they are fast after the turbo lag 'hump', etc, but what I love about the roots SC setup is the INSTANT POWER! The response of this system is insane. I have a 2011 BMW e90 LCI with a single turbo and the lag on that turbo is not horrid, but it's there - and when I switch from my Bimmer back to the coupe on certain days, I'm like - damn!! the roots SC is just so much more fun, but once you really get on her, there is a big lacking of power compared to a turbo setup, etc.
So in my head - I'm thinking how great would it be to have the motor built out and slam a large Root SC on her!! LOL
