Started working on a forever home for the G today, sold my shop that was located about 3 miles from my house, using those funds to build a new shop at my house. Probably just going for a metal uninsulated 3 car garage with a ceiling height tall enough to put in a full size Bendpak. Going to start getting quotes from contractors in a week or so, my second floor of my house, my pumphouse, and behind my pumphouse on pallets are literally ALL my stuff. It's been so much work hauling truckloads of tools and equipment back from that other shop.
.
Send us some photos of the new garage when it is being built. Would love to see it either in progress or when it is completed.
Pins in the correct place this time made installing the outer timing cover significantly easier. Now I just need to install the cam covers and the oil pickup tube and lower pan. After that - it’s moving back into the garage. So close!
Started doing a little more homework and shopping for a Future Project™ involving a G35 coupe. Not really ready to share details yet, it will happen after I get this shop built which is still a couple months out but I've begun collecting parts. Surprisingly few FX35 in my local pick-n-pull which is unfortunate.
If you're gonna do it then do it now because those things will NEVER depreciate in cost lol. My youngest brother has a BADASS LS7 swapped one swapped from a wrecked Camaro. It farts and effortlessly makes over 400whp on the dyno. Plus there's still JUST enough room in the engine bay to do maintenance things.
well, but to offload my G is the biggest headache now, all I got is lowballing offer like 2.5k for my g, since they claim is auto and millegae, maybe I should part out everything instead?
Depends on how patient you are, this is the perfect time of year to be selling one. Auto and mileage are getting less and less relevant on these cars as long as it's clean and maintained. Pick a number (I'd say somewhere in the $5k-$7k range for your car) and work on making a GREAT for sale description and get that thing as shiny and spotless as possible for more wow factor.
The biggest issue will probably be the mileage though, you're over 200k right? Most banks won't give loans for a vehicle over 200k so you're likely looking for a cash buyer.
Get a compression test so you can post the numbers in the sale thread, that can definitely help persuade a hesitant buyer if they know the engine is still solid. Make sure to reference things like "Nissan VQ engine timing chain is good for the life of the engine" and other things like that.
There's an art to selling cars, give people ALL the information, don't leave anything out. If someone starts to feel like they're being bullshitted they'll run so don't sugar coat anything. I've found people will pay a premium if they know EXACTLY what they're getting with no surprises.

HMMMM.... I'm trying to think of what the FX35 has that the G35 coupe doesn't (besides AWD).
