This is the funniest thread I’ve read, I hate the stock front bumper of the G35. By the way my mom drives a stock car with no mods but she is like 60.

My mom is 57 and she loves driving my modified coupe, hell she even saw a 350z with an HKS exhaust and said i should get one and put it on the car

i'm bored at work so i thought i'd revive this thread ... inspired by the picture above

i built myself quite a negative reputation in this thread but here's how I see it.

the majority of the time, affordable parts cheapen the car (IMO). Examples

1) aftermarket body kits never fit quite right, and even if they do, they're usually more aggressive looking, which makes the car look cheaper

2) intakes/exhausts/etc all make the car sound cheaper.. the only products that actually sound nice are expensive - ie) fujitsubo cat-back

3) wheels typically make the car look cheap, unless you can afford a nice brand like HRE, etc. Even some of the expensive ones make for a really aggressive look and reduce the over-all classiness.

4) suspension usually makes the car so stiff that you start to hear even more rattles and squeeks in the car

5) aftermarket car stereo decks always look cheap compared to a factory head unit.. and having that huge subwoofer box in the trunk is annoying as heck too.

of course -- you will all find examples that go against what i'm saying. there are definitely some nice looking rides on here too. some people spent a pretty penny making their ride perfect, and it turned out great! my problem with that is) by the time i make a list of all the stuff I would want to do, i could just go buy a fully loaded g37 coupe.

the only purpose i can see for aftermarket parts is when OEM parts are not available or too expensive.. or if you have a lot of money to waste and the G35 coupe is truly you absolute favorite car. I on the other hand, would rather have a 2005 Carrera than a 2005 G35 Coupe that ended up costing the same because of all the aftermarket modifications.

yes, i never understood how people could drop like 60,000 into a custom blazer or civic and think that it was a good idea when they could buy an m3 or something

if you need to spend 20,000 on mods to make your car the way you want it, you bought the wrong car, then again drug dealers who have a hard time hiding money need to spend it on something, buying a 60,000 car would be more obvious then hooking up a pos car...just saying
