OFFICIAL "What Mods Should I Buy for my Coupe?" Thread
Hi guys i've been researching extensively on exhaust mods and i'm trying to decide what hfc to get. these things are so pricey! i was gonna get kinetix but i saw some universal magnaflow hfc for like $100. what's the diffrence and would i get as much gains as the over priced ones?

Yea they are along the same line as test pipes and yes the sound will change. I was told by tony that if I ran the ART pipes with the stock muffler I would have a loud "rasp" sound, he then recommend me to ran a resonator to soften the rasp noise. As far as throwing a 02 seņor code I'm not sure, I haven't bought the art pipes yet and we don't have a smog test here in Florida. Hopefully a Cali member can answer that for you.
The chances of CEL with hfc are next to minimal compared to tp's. i know for sure they'll throw codes, plus the smell and rasp? nahhhhh.....i'll pass. i'm just looking to find a good deal on a hfc and jump on it
I've had AAM Competition HFC for two years now, no codes, passes MD smog (which is really just an OBD2 port scan).
Also, if you decide on test pipes and get a check engine light, the code can be disabled via Uprev tuning software.
Just pay the price for high-flow cats. After you buy $200 worth of cores (our cars need 2) you'll have to pay a muffler shop to fabricate piping to get them installed. Or $400 for ready to bolt on performance.

I know the art pipe was designed to eliminate the rasp noise. But now when I emailed the Motordyne company to ask if the pipes bolt up to stock headers and stock y-pipe, that I may have a rasp noise due to the stock muffler. May it was a plot to get more money out of a customer idk... I'm was stating what I was told
No they're right in a way. Some say the ART pipes accentuate your stock exhaust note and some say it just adds rasp. Art pipes are really best off paired with an entire catback-preferably theirs. Listen on YouTube for clips of it with stock exhaust
