Because, marketing and bolt on simplicity. Also people don't typically search and do their own modifications.

I personally went with a non-revup collector and modified it myself based on info in the DIY porting thread (that Tony from Motordyne even contributed to, a little bit).

They are all basically the same. Bigger gauge wire is all that matters

Just measure all your wires you plan on replacing go to local car audio shop or even walmart or best buy get some 4 gauge wire (I think 1 gauge would be a little over board) some gold plated connectors like $2 a piece lol and diy probably cost you at the most $25 and a little of your time.

oh ok thanks! also ive read every single post on this thread and would like to get a few things cleared up!

what has a better gain overall for replacing / upgrading the plenum?

5/16" Basic Plenum spacer thats around 250$ from motordyne
NEW Velocity Manifold ** SSV replacement ** - 760$ from kinetix!
Cosworth Twin Plenum Intake Manifold for 350Z/G35 - 1350$!?

also anybody heard of a skunk 2 plenum? and if so is this better or worse then the basic motordyne spacer??

also my last question would be. if you are looking to replace the pipes, what would be best if you dont care for loudness, but would like to avoid rasp / drone.
motordyne art pipes, HFC, or test pipes??

best mods for g35 coupes besides going FI (my car is 07 auto and i dont own these parts)
1. plenum spacer and mrev2 ONLY IF your car is a manual or kinetix / cosworth.
2. grounding kit
3. full exhaust single or true dual ( own a stillen atm )
4. motordyne art pipes, test pipes or HFC
5. 350z stock intake w/ 06-07 rev up air box? amsoil or k&n drop in filter.
6. headers
7. transgo shift kit (not really sure what that is)
8. osiris tune / tune up
9. Higher compression pistons and an aggressive set of cams should produce a good gain once tuned ( copy and pasted this while reading the thread not sure from where )
10. sticky tires
11. turbo or super charger
12. ECU reflash (technosquare) also found this in the thread somewhere.

cant think of anything else as of now lol. and thanks for the help!!

All though im not really in to racing I know you dont get high compresion pistons with FI you WILL blow something. And test pipes and hfc will make your exhaust louder youll probably need a resonator to make it softer and less droney or an exhaust with a fat can lol

^Just go with the spacer, the MREV2 as well if you have the rev-up. Research the pros/cons between the straight pipes and HFC's and decide which is best for you.

well from i read, test pipes and HFC's are known to have rasp / drone. but the HFC arent as bad?? also test pipes tend to make the cabin of the car smell like fumes?

also my car is a 2007 coupe , auto so no mrev 2 needed!

so you dont think its worth buying a kinetix? i was hoping it has the same gains as a spacer, i also like how it looks in the engine bay

Did you see this post? HFC do not have drone, and will be the closest to what you are looking for. The rasp is nothing more than factory, believe it or not there is rasp in the factory, but u don't hear it from inside.
