Front Compression Rod

I have just purchased 04' G35 Coupe 6MT (50K Km) in January and recently, I have been noticing knocking and clicking sound from driver side front suspension. The noise only starts on low speed or when I am breaking. I have been reading the Fourms about noise from Front Compression Rod, but I am 100% sure if bad bushing form FCR makes knocking or clicking sound ?

It certainly can. The CR bushings are known to go bad and I just had mine replaced at 31K miles.

Changing any bushing is not an easy DYI. You need a press to take it out and in and most of the bushings are very hard to get it out. Futhermore, I understad that in order to take CR out, you need to also remove the sub frame as well, not a easy job. So I would recommend to purchase entire CR and spend couple of hundred dollars to get them professionally installed.

I found out the source of the clicking sound. It was my stupid mistake. When I installed Hawk break pad for me Brembo front breaks, I foregot to put back the metal shimmies. Oops. We are still working on the knocking sound. My shop can not seem to find any visible damages to the front compression rod or and bushings.

I just changed mine. Unless you remove the compression rod and look at the top of the bushing, it will be hard to see damage. From the bottom of the bushing when it was on the car it looked fine but when I removed it from the frame I could see that the top of bushing was all ripped.

I'm having the same problem. How much $ should I be expecting to spend to get this fixed?

Depends on how handy you are. Buy the parts from Tony@Riverside and you can attempt to DIY. It actually isn't that hard so long as the bushing isn't coroaded to the bolt. Mine was and I had to give up and go to the dealer to get them to change it. You can also a local independant to do it as it really isn't that hard. I paid about 180 a rod from Tony and the dealer charged me an hour labour per side. I've heard of dealers trying to charge upwards of 1K for this.

If you buy the parts yourself from Tony plan on $360 plus 2 hours of labour from a garage to install both sides.
