Like the title says; do grounding kits actually give any REAL gains or are they just placebos? I just installed mine but do not feel any difference at all.

Nope, it might help get a better connection, since the current groundings can be rusted..ect but your not going to get any power.

No proof other then people saying hey my butt dyno feels its faster.

ECU is also powered by a DC-DC Converter and is Fully Digital. So better Grounding wont effect the ECU it either works or it doesnt.

no, only if the car wasnt grounded well. The car may not start when not grounded well. The oem grounds do their job. For looks.....and because I have one too.

I've got a set and the radio hits a bit harder. Not to mention it looks good in the engine bay.

I also have a grounding kit installed within the past 6 months. No real gains that I noticed. My headlights would start to flutter a little bit when drifting in the snow in parking lots. That seems to have gone away or been reduced to a minimum. Looks nice and gives electrical confidence for me.

I know a grounding kit does not give any hp gains rather stabilizes the electricity circulating the car. The reasons why I installed mine were to making the headlights brighter, make the stereo louder, and most importantly to better the precision of my AT manumatic shifting. But after I installed mine, I see no difference at all in the shifting. Major disappointment.

Like everyone else said. NO HP gains. Just makes your lights dim less your fan turns on and when your stereo hits hard.

If you want to upgrade your grounds for your system that is a different story. Grounding kit is nothing but wires and terminals along with sleeving if the seller decides to make a quality product. I have made bunch of grounding kits, wire harness, HID harness and other electrical wiring in my boxers in the comfort of my house. A monkey could piece one together using common knowledge available on the interwebz.

The big three upgrade is for ALT POWER, BATTERY GROUND, and ENGINE GROUND.

Engine to Grounding point on car

Battery ground "-" to ground point on car

Battery "+" to Alternator power lead "+" with Fuse inline

Here is what the you can do finalize and ground everything else including transmission for SO CALLED GAINS...

1) ECU ground to grounding point on plenum near cylinder 1 (front of car passenger side)

2) PS ground to grounding point on plenum near cylinder 1 (front of car passenger side)

3) Extension from Front of timing cover to same grounding point cylinder 1 (front of car passenger side)

4) Front of timing cover (same location at #3) to Intake mounting point on plenum. (where stock z/g tube screws into plenum)

5)Intake mounting point on plenum (where stock z/g tube screws into plenum) to brake/clutch grounding point.

6) Intake mounting point to plenum grounding point on cylinder 1 (same as Step #1 & #2) (Not sure if this is necessary )

7) Front timing cover to grounding point cylinder 1 front of engine near sensor / coolant hose.

8) Grounding point to transmission

9) Intake mounting point on plenum to grounding point around driver headlight grounding point.

10) Throttle body to grounding point in battery compartment
