You will have to forgive me but are you sure the ecu reset includes clearing all the codes?
OBDII will also store a code even if you fix the problem. Then after X # of turns of the key or miles, it will clear itself if it doesn't see the same out of range voltage again.
If the car drives okay, the MAF is probably okay. A truely dead MAF will cause the ecu to revert to limp mode and not allow the engine to rev over 2,000-2,500 rpm.
Plus, you haven't even determined what code # it threw (although it's mostly likely a maf code since you forget to plug it in)
Just don't panic and automatically assume you need a maf

omfg people haven't you been told not to unplug the sensor harness or not to remove the sensor from its housing?! man... somehow, "told you so" just doesn't do it justice... cato, look online, look on ebay, look around, man. $500+ is way too much... but on the other hand, you're pretty screwed already...

Good thing I sacrified those 2 virgins last night I've unplugged the sensor numerous times and haven't had any problems. Just remember to plug it back in before starting the car

crap...hope it works out Cato. I too had the CEL - was able to reset it. Make sure the MAF is plugged in tightly. Perhaps pull it all off and clean it again - maybe some gunk got jostled loose in the reinstall? What kind of cleaner did you use - could it have left some residue on the MAF?
Just went and got a can of CRC and some TB cleaner this afternoon. It was only $5.70 at NAPA for the CRC. Figured I might as well do the TB while I have it opened up.
The can of CRC says it is proven to make 4-10whp on it. Doubt it! Maybe if the MAS is covered in mud or very dirty. Still I'm not getting my hopes up.
