Thanks for the recommendations guys. I know this should probably go in the suspension area, but I'm feeeling frisky today. What sway, endlink combo are y'all running? I would like less understeer. And wheel width, I have the 17in sport wheels and feel as if they are not wide enough.

And not to be overly attached to car culture, but what inspired y'all to make your car the way it is? Did you have an end goal or was it figured out along the way? I'm trying to get an idea of what I would like to do.

i find the key to building a car that "flows" is to pick a theme and stick to it. it CAN evolve over time but a lot of people waste their time flip flopping on mods that contradict each other

Get hotchkis sways and SPL endlinks. Like I said before - learn the car before modding it What size are your 17" wheels?

me? I knew since I got into cars that racing is fun, I started out drag racing, swapped to autox, then I hit my first real track day (road course) and it was game over, toooooo much fun!

I feel like 4.3 for an auto would be like 3.9 for manual?

people on the Z boards are racing on single piston calipers, it works if you find the right formula for it

but yes after a while you want a BBK (Brembo is what most people use, ballin on a budget) there is also stoptech and wilwood which is what most racers use for BBK.

^no, 3.7(3.69) is the highest you wanna go on an auto. autos are 3.3 from the factory manuals are 3.5. the single piston and a tiny disc might be able to stop a Z multiple times but a G35 is a lot heavier

They are 17x7 oem sport 5 spoke. Correct me if i'm wrong. I can feel the sidewall roll too much and wish to make it less noticeable. I would like bigger wheels. I am thinking 18x9.5 all around.

And in regards to the brakes, the stock single piston isn't enough for me. I was driving the other day and a car pulled out in front of me and I had to slam on them and I wasn't sure if I had enough room for the brakes to be as effective as I would like. I don't want that "unbeknownst to the driver" feeling. I want some I can count on. bbk = yes.

Low end tq is not Oh! and what you said about hpde, I would love to get into that. I have been driving since I was 15 and I am almost 18 now. (anticipatory) "you're not ready for a g get a camry," is not the connotation I would like to have among the car community. I've always had a respect for how forgiving our car is. I learned how to drive on it. NOW. Before the posts about how a 17 year old shouldn't be modding a g35, I know i'm not invincible, and I have a respect for driving carefully. But I also like to have fun like the rest of us.

I dont mean driving on the street, most people can do that - learning your car on the track is 1000x different then driving on the streets, even if you are a canyon guy or like back roads or whatever track is a whole different ball game. Id recommend putting a 215/45/17 RS3 on the 17x7 rims, get some brake pads and go out to a track day. Hell like I said before id recommend just getting brakes and going out stock

I dont get why all 16-17 year olds have to state that..

I was 18 when I bought my car and I have yet to wrap it around a telephone poll (but I have had some butt puker moments at the track before)

I do it because I do not want to get flamed for being younger. Some people are pretty close minded about things and I just felt like I should put it out there, there are responsible teenagers. Idk, maybe I shouldn't have to justify myself so much.

But anyway, I have yet to track it and I throughly look forward to doing so If the chance presents itself.

Hello people of the internets.
First time poster, so I figured the first question I should ask is:
Just bought a black 2003 sedan sports package (red shocks) and wondering what some thoughts and opinions were as to what i should do?
Been reading and researching and this is what Ive come up with currently.

First upgrade: wheels, tires. Trying to find a set of the staggered rays 19s from a coupe... Not easy... Yokohama s drives or general exclaim uhp. Decent tire for a good price
Second: stillen sways front and rear, tokico struts. Seems quite popular and quality parts
Third: braking. There was a class action lawsuit against infiniti for these awful brakes. Would better material pads and rotors be a good idea for aggresive street driving or should i upgrade into 05 or 06 like someone mentioned above? Would they fit bolt to bolt or would i have to modify?
Fourth: 5/16 spacer, copper as it snows up here, k&n drop in and high flow cats. I want it to sound better. Not loud. My old prelude was seriously riced out.... Ran 14.3 @ 96, but too juvenile. I want some better sound and a little more oomph. Are there reflashes or how would I go about this? I hear there arent many options in the chip tuning department... My friend and I are in a bit of a horsepower war. He. Must. Not. Win.....
Finally, repaint, undo 10 years of parking lot wars, tint.

Bought this thing a week ago and I just cant keep it stock. Opinions, critisisms, feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Nice. Welcome. To be honest it sounds like your kinda set. I bought my 04 in June and just swapped brake pads to Duralast Gold Ceramics last night and all my noises are gone. If you are tracking then you may think BBK with some nicer rotors. Otherwise.. I just keep up on mine and they do ok for daily. If its in the funds go for an upgrade. Also, hr y pipe (OEM nissan or Megan) are both a good start for the exhaust with a coupe mid pipe. Also, a ztube and k&n drop in are solid for the intake. These are some of the things Ive started with and notice a difference. Enjoy

Thanks for the reply,
Yeah, Im probably going to just upgrade materials and try to find some braided lines with better brake fluid.

Will those exhaust upgrades make the car too loud? I dont want to draw too much attention, just a nice deep grumble, but ill do some more research
Thanks again, Ill probably do the ztube and drop in right away
After sways and tires of course, those are an absolute must

Its all personal.. but I would venture to say this would not be too loud for you. It gets a nice tone, but you are not switching out the muffler which would be the real change is volume. Sometimes I would like it louder, but it definitely adds an aggressive sound. You can youtube it.. make sure the muffler is stock

true story... i went through it and still going through it but i think i finally found the theme im sticking with..... its pretty much in between performance/stance/show... aggressive wheel set up, BLiNG engine bay, Performance parts and this is all on an "X"!! lol. the next big mod isBBK then FI. Still debating on bags or not... research on them discouraged me... doing further research.
