Rust

I waxed the car this weekend and discovered some surface rust just starting
to bubble up, very small, 1/2 by 1/4 inch but if I forget about it, it will get worse. Its behind the rear wheel where the fender touches the rear bumper.
Not sure what to do, thought about removing the rear bumper and putting some product there that will stop it from getting worse, any body specialists
please jump in..

"The Infiniti Corrosion Warranty covers damage from corrosion to the outer panels of the vehicle for seven years without any limitations to the number of miles. This covers the outer panels if they develop holes due to rust. Any other type of rust damage is not covered under this warranty."

I would take it to Infiniti and see if they will fix it.

My local dealer told me the same and I told them they were wrong (kind of embarrasing they didn't know what the deal was). Here's another thread, I got a letter in the mail re: the rust warranty extension... You might want to ask to speak the manager & ask that he confirm same w/ Infiniti Corporate...then when he tells you you were right, tell him he should train his employees better.

The rust is not in the doors, my 4 doors were changed already. its on the rear fender where it meets the bumper, bought some rust check, will spray
it to stop it from continuing.

My first time putting up a pic, if you double click on the pic you will see the rust, right side is the bumper and the left side is the rear fender, was thinking
of pulling off the bumper to give me room then just grind/sand the rust away
and put on 8 coats of paint over 48 hours and hope for the best, the dealer
want 500$ to fix and repaint whole rear fender, I hate those guys. I guess
it would help if I lived where there was no snow... You body shop gurus please advise.

Thanks

They told me 4 years for surface and 7 for perforation, plus that fender
has been redone years ago. I went to take off the bumper and 4 out of 6
retaining bolts snapped..
