Random Little Question Thread
There is no "final word" on the crank pulley - its one of the most debated mods in the history of the G - its not going to change.
Since yesterday my 06 G35x has been making one beep whenever I shift from P into D or D into R, pretty much when I'm parking. No warning lights pop up on the dash. I don't need an oil change or anything. What could be causing this???
Thanks in advance,
Thanks in advance,
When i am a traffic signal and wait time is long, i put my car in N instead of staying in drive and braking. is this a good practice? i do this so that brakes last long. But will it have adverse effect on transmission?
please advice.

The usual reason I see people doing this is to save gas, not brakes.
To be honest, if the car is just sitting there, I doubt holding the brake would wear it out noticably faster.
You'd probably get more noticable wear moving the trans from Drive to Neutral that much more often.
But don't take my word for it, I drive a manual.

No, you actually should NEVER put your car in neutral or park while sitting at an intersection. There are many reasons why, but I'm posting from phone right now. I'll elaborate later
I've heard that its because the Neutral Goblin is on the prowl and he strangles anybody who puts their car in Neutral at inappropriate times.

Even i am not sure why i do that, i was just doing this because it helps me relax my right foot
Thanks, that makes sense a little, but even after stopping, doesn't brake have to continuously act so as to stop rolling forward or backward in case of a signal having little slope or at inclines? In my commute, there are around 5 signals that have a downward slope, so at those places i put in park and put on hand brake while waiting especially if i am among the first five cars at signal as the wait is around 1-3 mins.
